Help / Avice / recommendations - Holiday Rental
I really need to get away to try and get better, recuperate.
Somewhere quiet to rest - Don't mind where but UK most likely. Any location.
So does anyone either own or have access to places available to rent/hire?
Looking for a few days or better a week or up to a month. Just for me maybe plus one at weekends depending on location.
Open to ideas / suggestions. Any options considered, Any dates. Any Price. Any location (I'd bring everything I need so parking is needed).
Just thought I'd ask on here.
Thanks in advance fo any reply.

I hope whatever it is your dealing with gets better.
A think a barge would be very peaceful just floating down the canal very nice and peaceful, wonder if you could rent one for a week and how much it would be ?

Good suggestion.
Considered this but decided I'd struggle with locks and other logistics.

Me & the wife have booked a cottage on the Isle of Arran in Lochranza for later this month with her parents they have had a tough time during lockdown and they need a break,it's a beautiful place right on the edge of a Loch,it looks so peaceful, maybe try one of the Scottish islands I've never been to one but they look so peaceful, maybe that's what you need a bit of peace and quiet,Scotland really is a beautiful place.

The Wife...her Mum...her Dad....have warned me of the weather, but I have the dogs I plan to walk a lot so the weather really won't bother me,another place I recommend is the East Nuek of Fife....a gem of a place.HunterST_BFC wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 10:12 pmArran is superb.

Few things here...
East Nuek of Fife is superb - infact Fife holds many good memories from over the years.
Walks with Dogs on Arran Shiskine is breathtaking.
Try and get on the tops.
Worst place on Arran - Brodick.
Drive South coast road -- or North

Re: Help / Avice / recommendations - Holiday Rental
Lochranza, Glen Catacol, Glen Rosa and the full circular ridge walk around the Goat Fell range are all rewarding.
Brodick, as mentioned, is a dump. As is the mainland port of Ardrossan.

Agree with the above.
The walking bit for me at least for now is an issue and I miss it. Just looking for a place to sleep loads and eat well that is quiet with a change of view.
Literally Anywhere.

Could the op rent a motorhome? Then you're not as restricted regards places to stay

Re: Help / Avice / recommendations - Holiday Rental
Looked into this quite a bit.
Prices have gone through the roof and including costs don't add up if you are on your tod.
Unless you know someone with one one parked up and not used who'd rent?

Keep your eyes on the news. Now that the schools have gone back, there's talk that the Govt is considering whether to drop PCR tests for double-jabbed holidaymakers on their return to the UK.

Polperro is a lovely small harbour with loads of pubs and restaurants
I’ve stayed at the Haven (used to be Bruce Foxton’s (the Jam) holiday home) and can recommend that but there are plenty of places. For that particular cottage parking was free but a 5 minute walk as cars don’t really fit down the narrow lanes.
