The Munros are 3,000ft or higher. Plenty of other mountains in Scotland that are not Munros.tiger76 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 3:20 pmThe first is subjective, but yes it's apparently classed as a mountain if it's (2000ft) above sea level.
180 mountains in England alone, the highest of course being Scafell Pike.
Plenty more info and pics on this websitehttps://www.go4awalk.com/uk-mountains-a ... gland.php
One fact I discovered is that mountains are known as Hewitts in England, Ireland and Wales.
I obviously know they are known as Munros in Scotland, Ben Nevis being the highest.

I know that they have tidied up the old mineworkings by planting liquorish trees and recently installed a sherbet fountain. Didn't know about the new vein. I suppose there will be a new liquorish route to it.

Good job it's not a bit lower or nearly every hill up north would be a mountain!

Also, about Hewitts. https://www.hill-bagging.co.uk/Hewitts.php Pendle, at 1831 ft therefore appears to be a 'Dewey'.tiger76 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 3:20 pmThe first is subjective, but yes it's apparently classed as a mountain if it's (2000ft) above sea level.

Re: Pendle Mountain
Just to be pedantic on the opening post...
Pendle is 1831 feet high which is 169ft short of a 2000ft mountain. This is 51.5m short and therefore you will need substantially more rubble and spoil if that is the plan.
