Jack wasn't at his sharpest today and also lacked a bit of movement but he more than made up for it with his determination and will power to succeed.
The fight and desire is still well and truly there.

It is the 3 points that matter not the performance at this stage of the season
Hope for some good marks tonight
Nothing below 7

I will post when I have watched the whole 90 minutes
I’m not sure, because we won, that it entitles everyone to a seven. For much of the game we were a shadow of previous recent games and that was in part due to a good number of poor performances.

That’s not a criticism - we can’t be good every game and have to take into account the pressure of the situation, but I can’t dish out 7’s and above based on some of the performances.

Watford were really up for it as this was last chance saloon for them. Hope they bet something out of Everton now

Cross from the opposite side (think it was Wade that day who put the ball in) but I said exactly the same a few minutes ago.

Interesting. I felt that many of our surges in the second half, when we were clearly the better side, involved Jack, either carrying it centrally, recycling the ball or getting it into our wide players,

Really like Cork, been a great player to us and truly is one of our own. Played nearly 200 games for us, more than any other club in his career. Can't believe it's 12 years ago he was on loan in our second half of our first Premier League season. Never forget that header against Spurs, with his Beatles haircut.

The non playing of Jack Cork since the win against Spurs and fantastic performance against Brighton is probably the single biggest factor for the sacking tbh. If he’d have been played in the following games there is a possibility we may have picked up more points. It’s hard to make a case for one player making such a difference but comparing the Brighton performance with Norwich is like chalk and cheese. How we used Weghorst at Brighton and then totally didn’t play to his strengths at Brentford is an example. The way Jack keeps possession and passes to feet helps us immensely.

Jack Cork included in Tony Cascarino's Team of the Week.

Cascarino wrote:

Jackson gambles where Dyche would play it safe

"Many people — myself included — questioned Burnley’s decision to sack Sean Dyche but it has so far proven to be a masterstroke. The key difference under the caretaker Mike Jackson is that the team are now prepared to take risks. Under Dyche, I could have seen Burnley settling for a point at Watford on Saturday. Instead they threw caution to the wind, loaded bodies into the box and went for the jugular. Things clearly needed shaking up at Turf Moor and the gamble is paying off."

Where I think Cascarino is wrong is that "playing the Sean Dyche way" Jack Cork, assuming he was in the team, would not have been allowed to get forward and into the box and dive to head the ball home. So, we would have been counting on one of the forwards to score the equaliser... Telling also that Josh Brownhill got our other goal. Two midfielders getting out two goals and the team taking a lot of very necessary risks.

This. And frankly, if we go down, the saddest thing for me is I truest believe we had the players to stay up in the squad but didn’t use them (enough).

He's immense. Vital to how we play. I think we're much weaker if and when he isn't playing. Would like us to sign another deep midfielder to cover him.

Looks like we’ve done some outstanding business over the summer but resigning him might be the best of the lot. Find me somebody better in his position at this level…

A joy to watch tonight.

Cork is too good for this level, as is Jay. Their age is the only reason they remain here. Both having full England caps says something.

We forget Cork was a Chelsea youngster and has since played hundreds of PL games.

He's been very good for us so far.

The only improvement he needs to make in this system is receiving the ball on the half turn, instead of having to play it back where it came from.

But I'm not sure how easy it would be for someone, who will have been told to 'play the way your facing' all his career?

Jack has a few 7’s on the rate the players today. I am not sure what else he could do in a game to improve he was awesome yet again. I’d give a 9 and that’s being stingy. A goal in the top corner he can then have a 10.

This division is so easy for Jack he makes the opposition’s players look like they amateurs

Class act. His performances this season have been reminiscent of Barton's for us in the Championship; he always anticipates where the ball will drop, seems to find acres of space in which to receive the ball, has a full picture of the pitch and breaks up play brilliantly. Maybe the Premier League is a bit of a stretch for his abilities, but he's absolutely coasting at this level.

I think Cullen’s more disciplined play is adding to Cork’s game. Super partnership in the centre.

When he retires Cork is someone I hope we offer a coaching position to (if he wants one). The stuff he could teach the younger lads about professionalism being rewarded by longevity in the game can't be underestimated, if he'd played more last season we wouldn't be in the Championship imho.
