I don't disagree with you, just the title and aim of the topic is a complete drama queen reaction, there really isn't many Burnley fans who want Dyche to go, they may want Dyche to change his ways, not be kicked out of the door. I'd like Dyche to be more experimental and flexible, I believe something has to change with 4 wins in 24, this is not a short term poor run of form, this is a clear athletic decline in the squad.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 9:18 pmAnytime we have a bad run the usual suspects crawl out from under their rocks and demand he goes.
So all that's being asked is suggestions as to who they'd want to replace him.
Yes I remember your behaviour a few years ago, it was absolutely hilarious let's be honest, but you're not the same person now so this post wasn't really aimed at you because I genuinely can't remember the last time you wanted Dyche out.
If fans want a manager fired, they should be able to name alternatives.
My 17 yr old son could do it with the NFL, in which he supports the SF 49ers.
He can name who he'd want to replace the GM, the coach, the offensive or defensive coaches etc, all with valid reasoning.
Which of the off/Def coaches he thinks could make the step up to head coach.
He even knew who he wanted his team to go for in the draft.
If he can do that, why can't seasoned Burnley fans do the same when asked?
Simple question for all those who want Sean Dyche to go

What is your point lmao? you asked where he is now, I told you, now your response is some weird pro Dyche comment? What does Dyche have to do with what division Silva is managing in now?

I keep asking one question that the ultra-SD lot will not answer:
Do you really believe that our players are performing as well (individually and as a team) as they were a few seasons back?
Forget the stats, watch the football.

Re: Simple question for all those who want Sean Dyche to go
Our players individually aren't anywhere near the same as they were a few years back though. It's a pretty obvious predictable decline in ability from age. 3 years ago Jack Cork was just about good enough, 3 years ago Rodriguez could score a goal, 3 years ago Barnes was a consistent threat. There's a reason teams in football don't stay the same for 3 years because you are ONLY getting worse.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 9:42 pmI keep asking one question that the ultra-SD lot will not answer:

Re: Simple question for all those who want Sean Dyche to go
Because you wanted Silva to replace Dyche. Silva is a failed PL manager.
The point is that you have form for being wrong, so you'll have to excuse those of us who take your opinions with a large dose of scepticism.
Re: Simple question for all those who want Sean Dyche to go
I was a fan of Silva and still believe in him. If the PL started when he took over at Hull, they qualified for Europe based on the form table from what he took over. Watford were super impressive under him, he got linked with Everton and basically threw in the towel and got himself sacked. I think he just needs a solid run at one club, baffling the way he completely gave up at Watford so early on.

He's 44 years old, plenty of time in his career yet to be deemed a failure.
He was incredible at Hull in the PL too.

You're obviously on a wind-up, so I'll leave it there.
As for calling a 44 year old manager a failure, pretty stupid thing to say given his age and where his current side sit.
Hull were in the top 6 sides of the PL based on the form table from when Silva took over, I think that's pretty incredible tbh.

Be careful what you wish for before you call for the head of Burnley Football Club's most successful manager in the last 50 odd years.
It's wayyyy too early to be thinking of replacing SD. The guy has worked miracles with the squad he's had. The only time I would start asking questions if I were the Chairman would be towards the end of the season if we were still poor to watch and struggling down the bottom, and the only reason for that is that this time round SD has actually been given some money to spend (and probably will in Jan).
To answer the question posed by the OP - the only realistic targets I could think of would be Chris Hughton and Steve Gerrard. Bearing that in mind and with some of the others mentioned on here, you'd have to question with our resources whether any would do a better job than SD anyway
Re: Simple question for all those who want Sean Dyche to go
I fail to see how this thread has turned into people obsessed with my opinion from 5 years ago, taking jabs at Silva like I'd prefer him over Dyche today, that isn't the case. I'm not wrong about football very often, so I guess I should expect fan girls to be excited at the prospect of potentially seeing me wrong on this incredibly rare occasion.

Re: Simple question for all those who want Sean Dyche to go
I do not think Dyche should go.
I am concerned that our time in the PL is up this season. There is a fairly lengthy pattern of not being defensively solid that stretches into last season. I do not buy the narrative that we are playing more attacking, fluent football and hence a downturn in solidity. Check the goal stats, we are still shite at scoring more than one. I am massively worried that we appear to blow up and collapse in games more frequently than previously. It used to just be City that would cause this. Now it could be anyone. There is an issue on the left that we are conceding crosses or Mee is being dragged across to cover. The team looks shot after sixty and we lack ground coverage in midfield. The age of the squad is catching up with us. Many of our key players are past their best and we are expecting them to dig deep and go again. This is the transfer failings stacking up. To be certain of avoiding relegation we needed two more in ST and CM. It was always incredibly unlikely to happen - the work needed was too much for one window. I am suspicious of the current owners but they did give it a shot. It is going to be a close run thing this season.
The Cornet and English language issue needs to get to ****. It is a bullshit excuse. Dyche needs to be flexible because the lads just aren't able to go to the trenches for us again. I will be ****** off to see a repeat of like for like on Saturday. I want fresh legs on 60 minutes and a formation change if necessary. In two games this season, it has. We need to be more proactive in the last thirty. Called it against Brighton, called it against Everton, called it against Leeds. Dyche makes changes and we are on a higher points total. The Brighton/Leeds results particularly annoy me, both teams are ****. Game management in the last period is like watching Southgate. I expect words were said after Monday. It has to be the nadir.

Re: Simple question for all those who want Sean Dyche to go
We’ll see how dyche is going to do soon.
From what we have heard from the owners, results don’t matter and he will continue to be backed in the championship if we go down. I think this is a good recipe as I don’t think dyche will ever struggle to get us back up with decent backing. I also think we can step up in the premier league if we move our parameters in the market to target a higher quality of player (as we have done well in summer IMO). The lack of investment in players over the last few years by the previous board has left us in a sort of rebuilding position now - we’re just lucky we’re currently rebuilding in the premier league.
For me, the challenge for dyche will be to improve the quality of players and adapt the system to accommodate them. I don’t think our style of play will actually need a big overhaul, as I feel our game is based around trying to go forward, but we find ourselves with a lack of options due so have to go long. Cornet will be an interesting (and exciting) one to see how it pans out.

We still ended up with 48% possession against a famously cautious manager in a game where we practically had free run of the ball in the last 25 mins after going 3-1 down.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 9:03 pmQuick look at possession stats against Everton suggests a very different approach to “lump it up on the break and get a corner” football Burnley are so often accused of.
Possession against Leeds- 35%. Liverpool - 33%. Brighton - 35%.
Playing Barnes up top in particular directs us towards playing exactly that kind of football.

Exactly this, Benitez wants other teams to have the ball so his side can counter attack with pace, once he realises although they had lots of the ball Burnley weren’t commiting men forward he changed shape and mentality and he got his rewards, great management by the way.Swizzlestick wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 7:12 amWe still ended up with 48% possession against a famously cautious manager in a game where we practically had free run of the ball in the last 25 mins after going 3-1 down.

Burnley while playing 4-4-2 will never be a passing side because we have nobody in the gaps on the half turn to receive the ball and build play whether that be a DM type to receive it off our defence like defour did or a AM who can receive off midfield.

In the past 50 years I have seen some very bad times and had some very good times.
I never thought we would get back in the premier league in my life time.
But we did it with Mr Coyle. I was happy that we had achieved it.
Then along came Sean and he as given some pride back into the claret and blue shirt.
We will never reach the heights that some people seem to want us to achieve on here. We simply don't have the fan base. We are punching above our weight. Simple fact who has achieved that SEAN.
We may not be pretty but we are effective.
All that said like every football fan I don't always agree with everything Sean does or say's.
For instance I couldn't understand why Maxwel couldn't get on for the last 15 minutes at Everton. He must be fit enough for 15 minutes.
The excuse about his English well how much do you need to accept a pass or make a pass to and from a Claret Shirt.
UTC I'll be there cheering with the rest of my family on Saturday .

This would have probably played better if you hadn’t got something massively wrong on the last two pages, had it pointed out to you, but instead of holding your hands up and admitting your mistake you simply double down on it.
Still, I suppose if people can convince themselves they are right can they ever really be wrong.

Every season we stay in the PL has to be considered a successful campaign, and despite achieving a couple of top 10 finishes, they are the exception rather than the rule, and our natural ceiling all things being equal is as a lower half PL side, that's just the reality of our situation.
Hopefully Cornet will be unleased on the Gunners at the weekend.

But let me explain
Every manager has faced different challenges.
If you look back on the team of the seventies lots of talent but were we able to make the best of them. Did the chairman help or did he realise like I said before we couldn't compete due to size of our supporter base.
Lots of the previous managers have played in a lot lower divisions than Sean, has had to contend with.
If I had to look at anyone and say maybe we did play a more attractive style of play at the same level I would have to Owen Coyle.
But no one will ever know what would have happened if Judas had stayed longer. All you can say is that he wasn't a great success at Bolton. Would I rather have Sean than Judas and the answer would be yes every time.
I like many older generation supporters, I would imagine would like to see more younger players who have come through the ranks like Dwight.
Sometime we can play attractive football but overall we do what we have to do to get to 40 points to keep us in the premier league.
No matter how we play there is no better feeling than seeing the ball hit the back of the net no matter how it happens.

Re: Simple question for all those who want Sean Dyche to go
We need to find a manager that plays like Coyle but can keep us up like Dyche, thats the hard partYorkshirelad wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 4:37 pmSean
But let me explain
Every manager has faced different challenges.
If you look back on the team of the seventies lots of talent but were we able to make the best of them. Did the chairman help or did he realise like I said before we couldn't compete due to size of our supporter base.

There is always the old saying be careful what you wish for.Superjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 5:35 pmWe need to find a manager that plays like Coyle but can keep us up like Dyche, thats the hard part
If we got someone who fits your requirement I'm not sure how long he would be with us.
Question would that be good for us?
Stability is what I'm sure we all believe is best for the club. In Sean that is what we have got, how many other clubs can say that.
I just hope we find a Dwight and Tom Heaton moment very quickly, as we need to get that good run of games started ASAP. We need to get to 40 points then I'm afraid we should introduce Nathan Collins instead of Tarky not that I don't think he as been a great servant for the club. Tarky has been great for us and has we all saw on Tuesday gives everything for the club. But I think next year he will leave.

Your desperation to crave my attention is evident, so I'll respond to you.Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 1:20 pmThis would have probably played better if you hadn’t got something massively wrong on the last two pages, had it pointed out to you, but instead of holding your hands up and admitting your mistake you simply double down on it.
Still, I suppose if people can convince themselves they are right can they ever really be wrong.

Why do we need a Coyle type?Superjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 5:35 pmWe need to find a manager that plays like Coyle but can keep us up like Dyche, thats the hard part
Why can't we find a manager who plays like Dyche did in that season we finished 7th and also keeps us up like Dyche?
I can think of someone who fits that bill and now has a bit more freedom in the transfer window...

Its weird we play like shite for half a season and then the ballers come back into the team, I'd rather we just played the best players we have all season and see where it gets us. Dyche has taken a David Koresh like figure to some supporters, its baffling. Lets hope theres no sieges at Turf Moor!GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 7:37 pmWhy do we need a Coyle type?

Bizarre comparison tbhSuperjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 8:31 pmIts weird we play like shite for half a season and then the ballers come back into the team, I'd rather we just played the best players we have all season and see where it gets us. Dyche has proven time and again that he knows what he's doing, most of the time.
We regularly have poor starts to the season, last season was poor for the first 7 games, but we still got out of it.
It isn't about playing the best players, it's the best team as proven time and again by managers everywhere.
Yes sometimes he appears overly loyal to certain players, but most of the time I can live with it because he's proven time and again that he knows more that anyone else on this forum about what's needed to firstly keep us up and also to get us into the top 10 which he's done twice.
