Fans don't pick managers.
If SD upped sticks tomorrow who would you want in? ;)

It's not for fans to decide and nor should it be.
I was happy that we hired Howe and sad when we hired Dyche, so what do I know?

Also, there's hardly a clamour for Dyche to be fired, is there?

I've no idea, but I'm not calling for his head am I.

I'm just proving it's easy to call for a manager to go, but it's a lot harder when you then have to source a replacement, the Brian Laws fiasco when Coyle jumped to Bolton illustrates precisely my point, and perhaps more worryingly who'd want to come to TM right now, our squad is short of genuine PL quality in some areas notably CM, and any gaffer that did take up the reins wouldn't be able to rectify those issues until January at the earliest, when if our slump continued it might already be too late to save our season, and no manager is going to want a PL relegation on their CV are they.

Dyche has been good for Burnley.
No-one could argue otherwise.
But every manager has a sell-by date.
Busby, Nicholson, Stein, Shankly, Revie, Clough, and hundreds of others, all had their days in the sun and then suddenly, were surplus to requirements.
Plus ça change.

Losing and drawing games from winning positions is the main theme of tonight.
The majority of those questioning Dyche will want him to sort it out

Someone who can understand and optimise this squad, be pragmatic, whilst bringing in the next generation. Name I don't know but but hurry up because our squad is not up to 95 minutes, it's like a meltdown.

I don't think anyone wants Dyche to go, maybe a couple on here.
I think the ones criticising are doing so wanting us to get our act together and fast with Dyche here.

I read on here, 4 wins in 24 games, no matter how you dress it up, that isn't good nor is it a short term bad spell. I want Dyche to be more active or even more reactive, try something a little different because it can't really get much worse than it has been for a long while.

When Benitez makes that change, what stops Dyche from going 352? 3 central defenders and 3 central midfielders to crowd the middle of the pitch, force them to cross balls into Richarlison up against 3 central defenders. Or even 451.

442 isn't working and hasn't been for a long time, it works in spells, not being flexible is hurting us imo.

Exactly, some people are just p*ssed off tonight with the 6 minute capitulation & now some people are just making a drama & exaggerating that a massive problem exists, people will come round & realise Sean’s a good egg & it’ll sort itself out it always does.

Who has signed all these players? Has it got to a point that his signings are so bad that we can't risk another manager managing them and we must continue as we are? Is that what you are really saying? That is pure insanity. Virtually unsackable because his signings are bad and only he can get the best out of them. Wow.
Another manager may at least change the system to get the best out of the current players. Unleash the shackles some seem to be playing with.

If we lost the next 10 games where would you stand? Same squad..same principle applies. At some point enough will be enough. It may not be just yet but slowly but surely...

4 in 24. Worst home run in our history....The mood is turning.

that is not an opinion, its factual.

Ball to feet on the ground with attacking players either side and a quality finisher on board

its not blind loyalty, its seeing my team playing at this level and it is entirely due to sean dyche.
I was there in the dark days and it was woeful. He arrived and gave us what we all wanted, and he maintained those standards for the best part of a decade. If you only see that as blind loyalty, then I pity your life as a supporter of this club.

Of course it is blind loyalty. You are keeping a manager for his past feats and not for what he is doing at the present. That is the very definition of blind loyalty.

I ask again. What would it take for you to want rid?

Oh btw I was there at the very bottom too. That is also in the past and bears absolutely no relevance to now. No wonder the younger generation of fans laught at what they call "The Orient brigade" Totally wrapped up in what has happened to see the future. Some of the things that I've read on here tonight are just crazy.
If Sean Dyche left tomorrow and a short list was then drawn up to replace him would the eventual replacement who was selected come from one of our regular posters of this message board?

What would you think if it was one of the regular posters from this message board who was given the manager's job at Burnley? You would be astounded that Alan Pace had made such a ludicrous decision.

Yet would it be such a bizaare appointment because we have many people who post on here who seem to think that they know much more about football management, tactics, players etc etc than our current boss Sean Dyche?
Even more bizaarely some of these "know it all posters" don't even go to games but do see the team play now and then on tv or on illegal streams.

You are all in the wrong jobs guys, just think of all the money you could be earning as a Premier League boss.
Whenever the next vacant managers position arises why not send in your cv's, oh and don't forget to come back on here and tell us how the interview went!

I don't want Dyche to go but I have a couple of observations that I find baffling from his comments after the game tonight. I will add that his persistence with 4-4-2 no matter what is something I'd hoped Dyche would have grown out of.

I think the loss of Tony Loughlan was massive for us and in a bad way

May i say again that I'm not at the stage of wanting a change of manager but I am starting to wonder whether he is capable of evolving again and getting himself out of this tactical rut he has stubbornly got himself into.

I question those that think he is beyond reproach simply because of his past exploits. It may buy him more time but it doesn't mean he is irreplaceable. That is both a ridiculous and dangerous road to head down.
I just get the feeling some will back him even if he takes us back all the way down the leagues (not that he will..or be allowed to). "Well he did give us those great times in the Prem you know" Blind loyalty.

Such radical off field changes can certainly have an impact, I don't know the situation regarding Loughlan but why was he replaced permanently and not temporarily while he took time to get his hip operation. Unless of course it was Tony's decision to permanently move on, which is strange to just walk out on a PL gig. Tom Short fitness coach went, Kavanagh went, a few others too I think. Seems completely unnecessary to rock the boat with radical changes, it looks to me like budget cuts, we replaced Short with someone from Barrow

I think the team line up from Dyche has been baffling tbh, borderline insane and based off nothing but loyalty. I see Brady still hasn't found himself a club, yet he was playing PL football for us and deemed good enough by Dyche. There is a good number of these players who wouldn't get regular game time in the Championship RIGHT NOW (Barnes, Bardsley, Rodriguez, Long, Stephens, Lennon, Gudmundsson), I expect to be met with the ''but Rodriguez scored X amount of goals for WBA 3 years ago'' YES 3 YEARS AGO, exactly my point.

Let me add, the decision to sell Benson for £1m looks a strange one, were we that desperate for £1m? we could've just loaned him to Barnsley for the season.

Rather than getting rid of Dyche could we appoint someone who might help him to be more proactive and make better use of the players available on the bench or even think about different systems of play rather than 4-4-2, if only to make the opposing managers wonder how we might play.....

And you approach a manager you are trying to get to sign a new contract, and tell him you’re going to undermine his position, in a positive way how?

Benson simply wasn't good enough.
wasn't good enough last year, I agree. There's nothing to say he wont be good enough after a year at Barnsley where he's doing really well currently.

SD is irreplaceable, unfortunately it's some of the players that need to be replaced.

We went and got him 4 or 5 new ones in summer and he doesn’t use them.

And you approach a manager you are trying to get to sign a new contract, and tell him you’re going to undermine his position, in a positive way how?
Brian Clough and Peter Taylor.
Perhaps they differed from each other with their opinions but complemented each other. Neither undermined the other.

No one is irreplaceable. Not to say that I know who I’d replace him with.

Hes out of his depth trying to play a more open style of football.
I definitely noticed that we started to play a more open style of play after the takeover. We have had some good performances, but our results have unquestionably dipped.

Someone said last night that it was Stokes attempt to evolve that cost them their place in the PL and I agree.

Where we go from here I’m not sure but we certainly need to get our defensive solidity back.

Well not one single person has provided a short list/new manager and that's not even a shock.

They've plenty to say when it comes to whinging but naff all when it comes to fixing the perceived problems.

There have been several times during Dyche's tenure when a small handful of posters have foolishly called for his head only to be proven wrong time and time again.

Lost count the amount of times I’ve said this but that isn’t a fans job. A fan sees what is infront of them and pass judgment. How many would have appointed Dyche in 2012? Or Coyle in 2007? It’s a weak argument.
