Re: New four year deal for Sean Dyche
Congratulations Mr Dyche, so are we in for 4 more years of 4-4-2 and a nice new contract (ITS POSSIBLE) for his favorite player Ashley, whilst more than likely Vids goes in Jan or the end of the season, a crying shame that Dyche wont play Vids due to the chip on his shoulder he has against him, some of our best football was played last season with Wood and Vids playing together, hope Dyche does not fall out with Cornet or he to will be sat on the bench for 4 yrs as well, lets see a change up front and lets cheer the lads on, before anyone says it i an NOT anti Dyche, its just we need to play a differant formation at least lets give it a try and once again Congrats on the new contract, and i am sure Mrs Dyche will be happy for him as well, just like the Conservatives, or was it Labour that reminded us, its four more years...lol i rest my case, COYC.

That does not remind me of ‘Dingle’ so much, all about ‘Me’ entitlement and arrogance we used to laugh at the likes of Chelsea and Manchester fans feeling they were the dogs and better managers than the professionals… we’ve always had critical fans, it is just that now they just have to sound a little more ridiculous given the achievements of the club in the recent past.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 2:42 pmIt is certainly no wonder we get called dingles

Part of me thinks the only reason he’s signed a new contract is to upset tarkys ears, and a few others!

Re: New four year deal for Sean Dyche
I think the responses on this thread perfectly encapsulate the current position with Sean Dyche.
People would have you believe there is an ‘anti Dyche’ or ‘Dyche out brigade’……however the lack of negative replies clearly suggest otherwise. Equally we haven’t raced to 200 replies full of glee!
What is actually the case is, you have the odd crank who will say ‘Dyche Out’ but generally the ones that complain are merely pointing out that he does make mistakes (as everyone does) and that he isn’t beyond reproach. Questioning the selection of Barnes or expressing frustration at substitutions isn’t being ‘anti Dyche’ or calling for his head it’s merely expressing concern at some of the decisions he makes.
Let’s hope that his next 4 years take the highlights of recent seasons and remove the low lights, let’s see our style evolve and maybe a cup run. I’m sure we’d all be happy with that.

Re: New four year deal for Sean Dyche
He has shown he can evolve the play if he has the players available. That first half of the 2017-18 season with Defour and Brady proved it. It's just finding the players for a club with financial limitations like ours.KateR wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 1:52 pmI see the word evolution used a few times and it sums it up well for me, I feel we have become established and now need to go that extra bit to evolve past what we are and move further up the table regularly. The transfers show promise and the change/evolution to achieve that, which I believe was critical for SD, the new owners have made the right noise and put the money where there mouth is, which again was a critical step, so nothing but good news here for me.
Yes I know we finished 17th last season but with a healthy margin between ourselves and 18th and for me relegation was never a doubt, again we've made a poor start and the number of goals given away from winning positions is a worry but one I'm sure will be addressed, and just to avoid any doubt, I don't think we will be going down this season either.
He has also shown he is grounded and does not get carried away think this club is something it's not.

........Maybe he's not the one who needs to evolve!gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 1:46 pmI’m fed up of the football being served and the baffling decisions however, now is the time for him to evolve over the course of this contract and he has more than earned that right to do so. Not after a complete overhaul to a free flowing attacking game, just a plan b and a bit more flexibility and less predictability will do nicely. He has a good board behind him now who believe in him (despite others slagging them off) so there are no more excuses.

Brilliant news.
Lets hope this acts as the turning point we need to get on with the season. Whilst I can't imagine these things make a big difference to the squad, they must be a distraction to those involved so lets hope we crack on with the season now.

Re: New four year deal for Sean Dyche
Something along the lines of...
4 more years, 4 more years Sean Dyche will stay
4 more years, 4 more years I say
4 more years, 4 more years of anti football
The type that should have be left in the stone age
Or you looking for a more of a fiction type song?
Either way the most important thing is 4 more years of Mr Dyche, what's not to like!

Can't help but think after 10 years a fresh start and new challenge would have done him good.
Is this Dyche basically taking the money and accepting he's never going to get a bigger job?

Congratulations, Alan Pace, you've got your man signed up - a 3 year extension to the contract you inherited when you bought the club. Great work in a little short of 9 months since then.
Congratulations, Sean Dyche. Thanks for all you've done with the Clarets since October 2012, a month or so short of 12 years. I'm looking forward to what you can achieve with the Clarets over the next 4 years. I hope we all enjoy your success.

Or the fact of what he’s achieved / built in his time here, it’s more than results on the pitch. The infrastructure of the club has improved. I believe he loves Burnley like we do, new owners have come in and promised things so let’s be patient and see what happens instead of the negative tint on things. The money goes hand in hand with top level football, he’s deserved every penny.

Re: New four year deal for Sean Dyche
Well I'm only 75% pleased about SD's new contract:
It's a four year deal' but that's clearly counting from now or more likely back-dated until last summer; Tony's report states that it contracts SD to Burnley until the end of the summer of 2025 season and as his current contract already took him to summer 2022, it's only 'three more years'.
