The Kicker Conspiracy
The Kicker Conspiracy
It would seem that a few clubs are trying to use Klopps post match comments to gain any advantage possible for their clubs in the PL.
It would appear we've now got individuals linked to Leeds, Aston Villa and Arsenal whilst in cahoots in with some poor journalists trying to enhance a roughhouse tactics reputation to the club, possibly influencing referee decisions in our games.
I think we are now on game 97 without a Red - if we do reach 100 games which could be the Norwich game, it may be an idea to somehow celebrate this milestone and show the football world that all these latest comments are ill judged, unjust and certainly undeserved.

Seems to be a growing clamour amongst a few clubs and ‘journalists’ attached. Imagine our next red card will be widely celebrated despite the facts being totally against what they are claiming.

That’s life these days, and whilst folk get upset they’re winning and by us repeating it and moaning it gets even more spot light.ralph8 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 9:43 pmIt would seem that a few clubs are trying to use Klopps post match comments to gain any advantage possible for their clubs in the PL.

Its something I try to live by in life these days, don’t worry about what others are saying, just smile and move on as you’re obviously frustrating them without trying, I find it funny to see them getting upset whilst I’ve not a care in the world.

Think SD could we advise the players to tread very carefully for the next couple of games. Referee’s will be keen to be showing the noisy minority that they stand up to the Burnley bully boys

We have certainly pushed the boundaries a lot more this season.
We don't seem as in control in our tackling.
We virtually stopped any diving in tackles after the Hendrick sending off at Watford. But they are appearing again.

Yes that's my big fear that we get a card happy official. and given we've got Arsenal & Leicester in our next 2, both of whom are known for their gamesmanship shall we say, we will need to keep our discipline in the coming weeks, until all this furore dies down again.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 10:09 pmThink SD could we advise the players to tread very carefully for the next couple of games. The Turf looks really bleak on that Fall video. Why on earth were all the fences and barriers painted green? And surely that advert is an oxymoron - Stones Best Bitter. It was rank bad stuff from memory.

The paintwork on the ground was green for years. Not sure when it was someone decided to paint it claret and blue.Herts Clarets wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 11:55 amThe Turf looks really bleak on that Fall video. In his interviews, SD needs to remind journalists that we’re the cleanest club in the PL
Re: The Kicker Conspiracy
I think it was the early 90's when the ground was repainted in our current colours. I always thought the paintwork was maybe a throwback to when we played in green, although the ground had been completely rebuilt since then. Maybe it was the cheapest paint, standard council parks and recreation ground stuff. I thought it looked great in green btw, but maybe that's nostalgia. The colour complimented the name of the ground perfectly.
Re: The Kicker Conspiracy
Bleak but beautiful in its own way. No-nonsense, unpretentious, foreboding, intimidating functional. Just how a northern ground should be. The massive floodlight pylons standing proudly. I really do miss the old Turf.Herts Clarets wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 11:55 amThe Turf looks really bleak on that Fall video. Why on earth were all the fences and barriers painted green? Re: The Kicker Conspiracy
I remember the paintwork being green - just wondered why you would choose green with our colours. I can remember early 80s standing on the Bee Hole and there was a bubble on one of the barriers. I picked at it watching the game until it released its still wet paint capsule, which i proceeded to lean on and get all over my coat. Trouble at t'mill when i got home and had to explain why my new coat was ruined.

Are you sure it wasn't the anti-vandal paint off the perimeter fence?Herts Clarets wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 1:20 pmI remember the paintwork being green - just wondered why you would choose green with our colours. Re: The Kicker Conspiracy
I seem to remember the council using the same colour on railings. I assumed they shared a job lot bulk order of paint. I still think of the old stands as green rather than the claret and blue that replaced it in the 90’

I've also seen comments from Leeds following the Elliot red card not being overturned and the Aston Villa guy who was injured at the Turf- think it was Wesley.

The same green paint as used at cricket grounds. I remember at Colne they painted the benches that colour. Probably the same Burnley cc.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 1:45 pmI seem to remember the council using the same colour on railings. I assumed they shared a job lot bulk order of paint. Re: The Kicker Conspiracy
I've been thinking today about our disciplinary record, and it occurs to me ours is so good because we have defenders who know how to defend, and that includes know how to tackle. The league is littered with defenders who are great at getting forward, putting in crosses, can play a 40 yard pass and drop it on a sixpence, but haven't got a clue how to defend, or how to tackle. The reasons Arsenal pick up so many reds, isn't because they are dirty. They are just clumsy, and faced with a one on one, they inevitably make a mess of it.
Our chances tomorrow are greatly reduced with Xhaka being suspended. Hopefully they have enough other **** defenders to make it no different.

Re: The Kicker Conspiracy
Not sure about the red cards but a good number of yellows will come from professional fouls at a lot of clubs I would imagine. Top teams seem to break down play with judiciously timed fouls in no mans land. They actually get away with quite a few too so probably should have even more yellows. It’s not something we tend not to do. I’ve also read somewhere that Dyche doesn’t particularly like to engage the opposition with tackles in midfield, preferring instead to rely on crowding out the box. Perhaps this is also why we are vulnerable from quick breakaways.

Get money on a Burnley red card today, with all the BS going around about us being a dirty team, klopp moaning about us week in week out and Paul Merson putting in his opinion this week you can get bet Arsenal player's will be falling over more than normal today, no way will the refs and the FA let us get to 100+ games without a red, today is the day Mark my word's.

Perhaps it was painted green to match the pitch and so our shirts stood out against it, especially on those gloomy winter evenings?
