Same team. I would have started Vyds at Everton, but Arsenal demands our Ash.
They don't like it up em you know.

Normally Tony I'd agree, but I think Brownhill has played well recently - and Westy had a torid game against Everton, I'd consider dropping Westwood. Not something I'd normally say.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 10:53 amI'd make two changes from Monday - Cork & Vydra for Brownhill & Barnes

If Barnes starts I think it’s likely that he’ll see red. Anthony Taylor reffing, favours the big boys and tends to help Arsenal out.

Re: Your starting eleven vs Arsenal
I thought Westwood was poor but I think Brownhill contributes to that. I think we'd see a different Westy with Cork back.

Works both ways though for a central midfield pairingClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 12:21 pmI thought Westwood was poor but I think Brownhill contributes to that. I think we'd see a different Westy with Cork back.
I think Brownhill gets close to the opposition and sometimes fails and it’s obvious to see is Westwood getting there in a defensive capacity or are we just seeing his forward balls

I can see why, but I really hope that if it isn't working he has the urge to actually make changes early enough to have an impact.Local cricketer wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 12:42 pmBrownhill is starting and so is Barnes. Fear not chaps

Re: Your starting eleven vs Arsenal
I’d imagine another defeat before Barnes gets dropped so the likely XI is last weeks . Can’t see Cornet starting so same line up . Though I’m at a loss as to why Jay/Vyd don’t get a proper crack .

Re: Your starting eleven vs Arsenal
If Brownhill is starting I hope he gives us some kind of a clue that we might get a PL league goal from him this season.
It would be good as well if Dyche doesn’t get outthought by another manager this season. Arteta’s hesitancy gives him just that opportunity today.

I'd expect (hope) Barnes and Wood to bully that Arsenal defence.

Brownhill and Barnes must be playing for their places. Cork and Vydra must wonder what they have to do. Dyche didn’t sound over impressed by Cornets fitness level during his pc

Well let's hope Barnes has a good game and doesn't
get himself sent off.
The one thing you can say for SD is that he is pretty predictable.
As is our formation.

Re: Your starting eleven vs Arsenal
Let’s face it guys, we are going to have to lose another 6 in a row before Dyche considers changing it.

I am a bit disappointed that we’ve not changed. The current setup isn’t working. Brownhill and Barnes have also been poor and you keep playing poor players the rest of the squad will start becoming unsettled and rightly so.

Re: Your starting eleven vs Arsenal
This notion that Barnes is gonna irritate the Arsenal defence needs to die. The man is complete ineffective now.
Re: Your starting eleven vs Arsenal
Everything we do is predictable. The way we lineup, the tactics we deploy, the subs we make and the excuses afterwards.
Re: Your starting eleven vs Arsenal
Exactly this. The only thing he’s gonna irritate is the grass that he’s forever falling over on.KefkaClaret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 2:22 pmThis notion that Barnes is gonna irritate the Arsenal defence needs to die. The man is complete ineffective now.
Re: Your starting eleven vs Arsenal
Barnes used to be good at buying free kicks for us but with the refs letting the game flow more he as become completely ineffective
