Just met Bobby Thomas’s dad
Just met Bobby Thomas’s dad
On a cruise ship - he recognised my Burnley face mask ! Cruise is round U.K. with guest appearance from Harry Redknap, Lulu abd Kathrine Jenkins. Dad seems to think Bobby will be well looked after at Burnley.

Re: Just met Bobby Thomas’s dad
I met his dad once at Gawthorpe watching an under-23 game. It’s good to hear a dad saying that about our club.

Nice. How's the cruise going? Is it the 7 night one that leaves from Southampton?

Whats the Regal Princess like HB C ...
We are toying with trying them out sometime in the future ... although that ship is a bit large for us ... we prefer the smaller ships like P&O Arcadia and Aurora and the Fred Olson ships
Re: Just met Bobby Thomas’s dad
It is a good ship - very strict on mask wearing - even if you are in the theatre or casino. Only time you don’t have to wear a mask is when you are drinking. No self service in buffet and finding seats is a bit difficult especially as we are on a slow trawl to Belfast abs weather not too great. Lift protocol is maximum of 4 people at any one time - but still there are idiots who just like in and say “we are covid negative and wearing masks (mandatory Covid test at port yesterday).

Ok, so it's the Regal Princess - not seen you mention that.HB Claret wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 5:07 pmIt is a good ship - very strict on mask wearing - even if you are in the theatre or casino. Did you leave from Southampton for 7 nights?
Re: Just met Bobby Thomas’s dad
Yes we left from Southampton yesterday - not actually going round U.K. - we have been drifting around North France abs now turning back towards Lands End and tomorrow a slow passage up to Belfast on Monday. Quick stop at Portland before arrival back in Southampton on Thursday morning.
Re: Just met Bobby Thomas’s dad
Sounds good. The prices look decent as well.. seen them around the £600-800 mark pp?HB Claret wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 5:17 pmYes we left from Southampton yesterday - not actually going round U.K. - we have been drifting around North France abs now turning back towards Lands End and tomorrow a slow passage up to Belfast on Monday. Re: Just met Bobby Thomas’s dad
We booked this through Imagine Cruising offer in Daily Mail - we paid £1,200 per person but that included WiFi, drinks package, upgrade to a Mini Suite and no gratuities to be paid so more than happy with it,

Going on Regal Princess on 7th October. It stops at Bruges an Rotterdam but I will not be leaving the ship. The covid protocols described are the same as the P&Oship that I went on in August.

Is there a Channel 5 film crew on board? Cruising with Harry and Lulu could be straight from their primetime schedule.

They'd have to pay me a fortune to go on a cruise ship full stop and I know a bit about ships!Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 5:49 pmThey would have to pay me to go on a cruise with Tax Dodger Rednapp

Why's that Capt.?...Any particular thing we should know about. Few years back Me & Mrs Aclaret enjoyed a fantastic cruise from Auckland to Sydney on Azamara Cruise Lines.

Great lad is Craig. Met him a plenty of times down Barnfield on Saturday mornings. Never had him down as a Lulu fan though

Some friends did the fjords, and the Scottish coast/northern lights, they enjoyed it very much.
Not my thing, I've done enough on boats already.

I've been on about a dozen cruises, had a great time on each one, so I don't know what you're talking about

Re: Just met Bobby Thomas’s dad
Best holiday I ever had was with my grandparents we went to Jamaica for a week, just happened to be Bob Marley’s birthday whilst we was there which was like a celebration of a god, then a week on a Caribbean cruise stopped for a few hours in different places. Cuba etc the size of the things are unbelievable, it’s like a little town on a ship, memories that will last forever as both my grandparents aren’t here anymore.

Re: Just met Bobby Thomas’s dad
We sat next to them at the player of year dinner, seemed decent people, proud of their son and very respectful of the Clarets. They’re Everton fans through and through I think.
Re: Just met Bobby Thomas’s dad
You are right - dad is a season ticket holder at Everton and was there on Monday. Didn’t say too much about the game but then again he probably didn’t need to.Jimmymaccer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 11:17 pmWe sat next to them at the player of year dinner, seemed decent people, proud of their son and very respectful of the Clarets. Re: Just met Bobby Thomas’s dad
I’ve always fancied a cruise to Greenock and Belfast. I prefer it when you can’t get off the ship though.
Re: Just met Bobby Thomas’s dad
I think for some it's not about the location, but just being on a ship cruising around. There seems to be plenty to do.
I've fancied doing one and even if friends were skint, I'd take my laptop and go on one by myself and mix in work while I'm on board. I'm sure many people are in the same boat...
