Newcastle-Leeds 8PM
Draw is probably the ideal outcome for us tonight, but if any of them is to win I'd shade Leeds, as they're less likely to be among the strugglers in a couple of months.
Both sides missing key men, but Newcastle have bigger problems due to Callum Wilson still being absent, Bamford is apparently fit despite the injury rumours surrounding him.
Should be goals in this, as neither defence looks watertight right now.

Raphinia injured to I saw earlier so we will see shortly
Re: Newcastle-Leeds 8PM
Leeds missing Koch, Llorente and Struijk so may play Ayling at centre back, think both teams will stay up but it is always good value to see them both creating meltdowns amongst their support when they are in poor form.

Re: Newcastle-Leeds 8PM
The Premier League is far richer for having huge clubs like Newcastle and Leeds, so hopefully both teams will find a way to win.
Just getting in there before DA.

Let’s see how good Bielsa is in a relegation battle.

Reports of ructions in the Toon camp, Brucie not at his most popular with the fans. Shearer "hating" what his old clubs become.
I think Leeds'll exploit this and at least grab a point.

Re: Newcastle-Leeds 8PM
Mmm, not sure. What makes them think that they should easily be finishing mid table every season and not worrying about relegation? What makes them think that Ashley should sell the club for less than what it’s worth? And then there’s the total lack of any morals by wanting to sell out to the Saudis.PremierLeagueClass wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 7:29 pmThese four Toon fans they’re with at the moment are all speaking very well.

Newcastle fans tend to be like most others, expecting the Owner to waste his own money on satisfying their fantasies rather than try to run a stable business.

Re: Newcastle-Leeds 8PM
Thing with Newcastle is they think the owner is so evil but realistically he pours cash into **** signings like almiron, joelinton. They aren’t a bad team just incompetent leadership from the manager. How much have they spent on Jeff Hendrick to sit on the bench?

I know I'm gonna sound like that guy, but a mens football top flight league game, the first one of the weekend and the only one of the night, should be front and centre on the bbc.co.uk/sport/football website.

Two shocking defences. The missus has just commandeered the remote though so I’m gonna be following the second half on here!

more fun to watch than any Man City game
Re: Newcastle-Leeds 8PM
The change in refereeing interpretation that started with the Euros has definitely improved the spectactle. But, yes, 2 poor defences probably the bigger factor.

Re: Newcastle-Leeds 8PM
To say they are supposed to be multi million pound players rahinha, James and firpo all missing there at the end of the first half was terrible. I’d you have those chances to our players I would be confident they would have scored. So wasteful.

So many are brainwashed into thinking that if a player appears for a so-called big club then they must be good.

Re: Newcastle-Leeds 8PM
Rhian Brewster?
They forked £40m for Joelinton as well, yes sure he's got an assist tonight, but if Toon are relying on him to keep them up, they're going to be big trouble, they need Wilson back ASAP, when he's in their team they're a totally different animal.
Joelinton bagged plenty in the Dutch league, so he clearly knows where the goal is, but his confidence must be at rock bottom, and once a striker gets into a rut it's hard for them to get out of it.
And every time he misses a big chance, his price tag will be mentioned, justified or not.

The Dutch league is a notoriously bad indicator when it comes to goalscorers.tiger76 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 9:42 pmRhian Brewster?

True! there's several who've bagged 30-40 in the Eredivisie, and then flopped when they've came to the PL.PremierLeagueClass wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 9:55 pmThe Dutch league is a notoriously bad indicator when it comes to goalscorers.

Joe Willock hasn't been playing as well for Newcastle since he signed permanently for them.

That's true. Unfortunately, the bit where you said that Joe scored lots of goals in the dutch league isn't. He's never played in the eredivisie.
Hoffenheim is in Germany - but he didn't bang that many in there. Most of his goals were scored when playing in Austria.
And willock has turned into Vernon Anita.

Every time I watch St Maximin he looks dangerous whenever he gets the ball pretty much. Great player. How on earth he didn’t get the 3 fantasy bonus points I don’t know. As said above I d have him in our team for sure.

Re: Newcastle-Leeds 8PM
Yes Bruce has done a decent job there, and have they really started that badly, no wins in 5 sounds terrible, but when you look at their defeats they've lost to Man Utd, Villa & West Ham, plus they've had 2 home draws with Leeds and Southampton in entertaining games.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 1:39 amFunny how they are screaming for Bruce's head when he has a better record with Newcastle than Benitez !!!
The key for them is getting players such as Callum Wilson on the pitch, and it's not as if Bruce was given a fortune to splash in the market was he, the only player of note they recruited was Willock, who they already had on loan in the 2nd half of last season.
I still think Newcastle will be fine, however whether Steve Bruce will be given much longer is questionable.
