As a consequence or just because of the size of Derby?
Both

Anyone relegated from the prem and not getting their finances in order would potentially be in trouble

I know it's a bit callous, but this is the perfect opportunity to nab a couple of players (if we wanted too).
Hope we’re all in for Jason Knight.

They've now only got five pros on the books apparently. Sibley and Knight would be very useful to us next season.
It would leave Derby, if they survive and don't recruit, with just three pros and a bunch of kids and that wouldn't be allowed under EFL regs.

Shambles

I think they need to appoint someone to administrate the administrators. All them months, back ground checks, due diligence, and they opt for somebody who doesn't have the money. What a crock of ****. Is there an ombudsman who can fine these people, by all accounts raking in a fortune in fees, now going to make even more money as it drags out even longer.

Nixon has said on twitter this morning the administrators haven't had any money yet, so that means another big bill to settle.
That's why they won't go anywhere near Ashley as he refuses to pay their demands.

Crikey, had no idea it was so bad.

I recall going on their message board when we were linked with Knight and their fans calling us “tin pot”. How times change (although, glass houses and all).

Isn’t it an Administrators priority to act to save companies or entities as best they can. Seems highly ironic that they expect creditors to take a hit, or full loss, but they themselves should be immune from their own short comings. Wondering who gets priority in assets distribution/ sale : HMRC, Administrators, larger creditors, the sole trader?

I don't know the full inns and outs, but football creditors get first dib
The administrators took another loan out from the same place we owe 65m to, that will take preference to paying their tax bill.
Their club is just a shell now with debts going up, enough money to pay the next month's wages.

Morris wants 20m for the stadium and then all the debts need paying.

The trouble is that if administrators aren't guaranteed payment there is little incentive to carry out those insolvencies where there aren't loads of funds. Obviously if they are guaranteed payment there is the issue of what is reasonable.

It’s horrendously bad - the one bit of light being people still prepared to step in.

I bet there is some relief at Preston. Kirchner was in the process of trying to buy them when he got the opportunity to jump back in at Derby.

Story is Preston did not believe he was sincere, certainly no proof of funds, so bagged him off

Nice to see an agent putting back into football for a change :D

I’m sure there was a healthier return expected though!!
