T20 Finals day

Post by tiger76 » Sat Sep 18, 2021 10:58 am

No northern interest this year alas, but this is always a great day of cricket.

Hampshire-Somerset first. Somerset win toss and field.

Kent-Sussex the afternoon game.

It's heading for a cracking finale in the final.

Somerset 83-4 in the 12th, chasing 168 to win.

Some controversy over a catch, and the fellow fielder touching the rope and his teammate while completing the catch.

Given as a 6, when seemingly to all and sundry it should have counted as a wicket.

Bizarre rule that I wasn't aware of.

One for the cricketing connoisseurs to debate no doubt.

BTW The Hollies in good voice as ever. :)

Yes,strange decision as the catch had been completed before he came into contact with the player. Anyway it hasn't made any difference to the result .

Kent win by 25 runs, those late runs by Cox proved vital.

And the evergreen Darren Stevens is still picking up trophies at the age of 45, incredible how he keeps going in his mid 40's.
