Chance for Dwight.
Bad angle though.

Re: Burnley v Arsenal match thread
IF keeper touched the ball it was after he had tripped Vydra and Vydra had touched the ball first. Insane decision

Yep, I reckon Vydra pushed it passed him FCB.
I need to see the replay again.

Ramsdale is gash. But he hasn't had a save to make.

It was never a penalty in a million years. Keeper made the save, Vydra was theatrical after minimal contact.
It should have been a corner though

Pen or no pen, Vydra makes things happen, we play better with him in the side yet SD continues with Barnes, I mean if we can see it why can't SD?!

Vydra has been working his socks off since he came on. Offers so much more than Barnes.

I wish we would be a bit less one dimensional. Making it easy for their central defenders whipping in these predictable crosses.

I don't get why Dyche put him back on the bench especially after the back end of last season.

Re: Burnley v Arsenal match thread
Well you can't deny we've played well 2nd half, as we have in each of our games for periods this season.
Our biggest problem is scoring goals, and yet again conceding a soft goal today, that's been the recurring theme of all 5 of our matches this season, and it's a trend that will need to change soon.

Thought we were unfortunate today not to get a break and score.
Unlucky boys. Cornet looks a promising addition mind.

Re: Burnley v Arsenal match thread
On a positive - Cornet has offered loads in terms of attacking opportunities. 90 minutes of him is an exciting prospect
Re: Burnley v Arsenal match thread
We didn't create a clear cut chance that their GK had to save
CM yet again shows no strength and guile

Re: Burnley v Arsenal match thread
More intensity, effort and less hoofball in the 2nd half, if only we'd have started with that lineup.

If we'd have started with them players we probably would have drawn, didn't deserve to lose really

We did well, made so many chances. Need to bury them in the future. We looked so much better with Vydra and Cornet.

Re: Burnley v Arsenal match thread
Its not going to change quickly if you keep using the same 11 players though every match. We can't score and leak goals, only one place that we lead you.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 4:52 pmWell you can't deny we've played well 2nd half, as we have in each of our games for periods this season.

Re: Burnley v Arsenal match thread
No such thing as "deserved" in the PL. You need to score goals and we just can't. Its starting to remind me of the run Sheffield Utd had at the start of last season. What is it now 4 wins in 25, and 3 goals in 5 games, two by defenders, the third a gaff by the Leeds keeper

Well at least we know what our starting line up should be from now on

Wrong starting line up cost us something today.

Impressed with Ramsdale, he commanded the box and seems to really get the defence organised like Heaton used to do with us

Re: Burnley v Arsenal match thread
I’m listening to it today and it dies sound like we’ve played Ok but lack in the final 3rd. We’ve been here before and Dyche has turned it around. Cornett sounds a decent player, should take the pressure off McNeiltiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 4:52 pmWell you can't deny we've played well 2nd half, as we have in each of our games for periods this season.

Re: Burnley v Arsenal match thread
Annoying though that narrow defeat was, the 2nd half display, and the impact Cornet and Vydra made is the one huge positive we can take from that.
Need to be more clinical when the chances present themselves though, Arsenal were pretty ordinary today, but they produced a real moment of class to win it, and that's the difference between the bigger sides and teams like Burnley.

All our strikers are ****, Taylor has lost the ability to cross and McNeil just look like he's lost it.
Cornet looked good though, shame he's only 1 person.

Re: Burnley v Arsenal match thread
much more encouraging second half with Cornet and Vyds, they have to start. Pleased Dyche made the changes earlier. That has to be the end of hoofball
Re: Burnley v Arsenal match thread
A lot to like about Cornet ( especially the flake) Clearly not at PL fitness level but looks quality. Finds space and uses ball well

Id definitely play Vyds just behind Wood as he gets bullied by defenders up front, would take a lot of prressure off himt o play the ball through the lines

I hear what you are saying but 4 wins in 25 is like turning the Titanic. In the past we have been on a poor run of 7 or 8 games, then we become unbeatable for about 6 to 7. This will take some turning, and to date the only really challenging team were Liverpool

Re: Burnley v Arsenal match thread
When are we going to start taking chances though, past 6/7 matches posters have said "if only we take chances" its a constant theme
Re: Burnley v Arsenal match thread
Must have been, those water tablets certainly work
I presume he is under instruction, but one of the frustrations for me is the number of times Westwood just hooks balls into the penalty area without even looking to see if anyone is there
Re: Burnley v Arsenal match thread
We had the same problem scoring last season.
After getting 2 against Leicester we only scored 2 in the next 8 matches.

Re: Burnley v Arsenal match thread
We did deserve something today but we just don't look like scoring, Wood, Barnes Jay and Vydra just look to be struggling for form, Mcneil is playing in fits and bursts for a couple of minutes here and there and our set plays are so predictable, Ramsdale just caught every one of our set plays today, on the plus side the fans really got behind the lads when Cornet and Vydra came on

Re: Burnley v Arsenal match thread
Everton are not a bad team, especially with the waiter in charge. Brighton should have been a win and Leeds was much like today’s game, could go any way. Don’t forget that run includes a period where we had no investment and actually lost players. We’re now investing in a squad. It’ll take time but it will turn around.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 5:00 pmI hear what you are saying but 4 wins in 25 is like turning the Titanic. I would prefer to see three new midfielders, our current crop are not up to it.Superjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 5:17 pmMassive improvement but prob need a starter in central midfield to come in in January if were not in the bottom 3 still by then.
