It's nice to see a player actually want the ball from throw ins. It could change us no end going forward.

Marvelous

Don’t mess around Sean, start Cornet and Vydra against Leicester

Pope
Lowton Tarks Mee Taylor
McNeil Brownhill Westwood Cornet
Wood Vydra

Cornet looked so comfortable playing left midfield that I’d start him there

Brownhill and Westwood did enough against Arsenal imo to keep their places

That’s our best 11 in a 442 no doubt about it. The question becomes whether we can play 451 with Dwight central as well. Useful options to have. Just the 5 signings we made in summer have given us so many more options.

I don’t think Max will start against Leicester though. Probably needs a bit longer to settle. Dyche might throw him in against Rochdale to get some minutes.

Why do players need time to settle? He looked settle enough to me.

The sooner Vydra gets his place back the better. Why go from a proven front 2 from last season to go back to what doesn't work. Mind boggling.

Vydra was away most of the summer break with his international call up. Now he has returned and had time to get up to speed so should start on Saturday.

Isn't the question how long he can sustain his contribution in a Premier League game? 30 mins v Arsenal; to extend that game time to 60 mins requires starting, or would we expect MC can play a full 90 mins in the next PL game? If Sean Dyche feels he's ready to start then that will work for me.

Definitely would not risk him against the cloggers of Rochdale, we need him fit for Leicester

Agreed, although think it would be another subs appearance vs Leicester.

Terry Cochrane was the first Burnley player who did step overs. I think Glenn Little used to do this as well.
Willie Morgan might have done a few.

Rochdale may play a more cultured style than one might expect ;)

They're top of the League Two fair play table.

We get upset with others labelling us dirty and point to the fair play table yet we have posters calling Rochdale cloggers.

We need to do something to get more from Brownhill, consistently. He certainly improved after the introduction of Cornet and Vydra, but that was on the back of 50/60 minutes of being pretty poor (Westwood too).

Im not certain what the issue is with our midfield, but it definitely seems much easier for the opposition to cut through it, than has been the case previously.

Have we been worked out, are the wingers not coming inside to get more bodies in the centre, are Westwood and Brownhill not working?

Whatever it is, it needs sorting because the space that the opposition has to play in puts us at a big disadvantage.
Yes we need a big strong defensive midfielder as well as a creative one. As things stand playing Westwood , Brownhill and Cork.looks to be the best option.
