And have you seen the directors box? Almost empty again.
Yeah I noticed.
I'm thinking it may be like when Bates took over Chelsea and found a celebrity club where nobody paid for tickets. He soon put a stop to it and made them pay.
There's too many seats just for directors.

Clearly it’s a number of issues, each on their own you’d probably not notice a dip in attendances, but all together it’s become more noticeable. The easiest way of filling them seats is simply win some matches, easier said than done.
I do wonder what the attendance will be vs Rochdale, they’ve sold out, it could be a great atmosphere, let’s hope we take it seriously, not another Dyche cup performance that we’ve come to expect.

A friend of mine made a last minute decision to take his kids into the game. He was unable to get the 3 tickets as only he has a clarets number
I’m not sure if he bothered in the end
I've asked the Club why there's limit of 1, as for the Rochdale game you appear to be able to buy as many as you want!

Also, you can buy 2 per person for Leicester.

The Rochdale one looks about right, but no way was the Arsenal game nearly full.

I don't think we can get as many as that in as what is being claimed for the Arsenal game

Filled with professional hangers-on in the past you'd expect
I'm not sure how many it can hold, but even just with Kilby, Flood, Holt, Crabb and Nelson leaving the board that's 5 and it'll soon ramp up when you include wives, kids, mates

Most of the people in there were paying for the privilege. It housed the Vice Presidents etc. and they were paying a significant amount.

I’ve seen that but someone’s having a laugh if they are trying to tell us that the Arsenal game was our highest ever Premier League attendance.

It’s so easy to watch any game online in HD for free now, more so than ever before. That has been a big reason for me not bothering any more, on top of a general apathy for the PL

I suppose all the empty seats at the Arsenal game were season ticket holders staying away because of the threat of Covid, were they?

All I will say is if they are giving that out as the official attendance it's a joke because no way on earth was it higher than every other previous home game in the Premier League.
We know there were around 16,000 in the ground for Leeds and that was certainly no higher.

You'd think if they were going to make a figure up, they'd come up with one that was lower than the official capacity.
Have we broken any rules declaring that figure?

Just checked and 21,944, the figure on the BBC, is our registered capacity with the Premier League.

According to the Utilita football yearbook (formerly Rothmans amongst others) our capacity is 21744, but what's a couple of hundred between friends?
So, mystery solved, we sold out, but several thousand couldn't be bothered to turn up.
Strange times

Rothmans does have that (will always be Rothmans to me) but the PL have 21,944.

We always used to get accused of under counting the attendance many years ago. Where has this new found thing of exaggerating crowds come from?

I wonder if the BBC have just taken that amount rather than anything from the club?

If it does, then it appeared that they couldn't be bothered to turn up for the match either.

Do the club hand out tickets in the bottom of the longside (near the Jimmy Mac?)
Seen Nick Pope’s uncle in there a few times and a few lasses who look fairly dressed up.

Would seem football in general is struggling to get full crowds back, especially in the Prem.
Last night, for what you expect to be a full ground (so-called big rivals) there were only 22,975 at Selhurst Park, when their capacity is 26,300.

That was the area used by BFC in the Community.
The kids teams that did the guard of honour / half time game were given tickets for those seats

Yes. 21,944 is the total capacity and we've never reached that figure for a Premier League game.

Last time we exceeded the current capacity was back in 2000 for Preston (22,310) and before then you have to go back to the Blackburn games in the 1970s when we had terracing.

Less corporate seating, cfs away fans only so no gap.

if the low attendances carry on then they might as well give the CFS to away fans, most clubs will fill it

others might well be having issues, people have found other things to do etc - no sure what relevance that has to us giving the CFS over to away fans though if things don't improve ?
