Arteta in the Metro:
‘…Again he [Tierney] had a problem. I think he was cramping. The pitch was pretty difficult today it was quite long…’

GRRRRRR!!!

Perhaps this is why the ref missed multiple Arsenal fouls, the grass was too long for him to see properly

GRRRRRR!!!
Neil Lennon was co-commentator on 5live and he pointedly said that Tierney never had cramp when he was at Celtic.....

That would suggest it was either faked, or there's an issue with the fitness regime at Arsenal.

The long grass thing…

Against Man City and Liverpool, I completely get it. Also even accept it against Chelsea, Spurs and Leicester. These sides are rapid at recycling the ball and are supremely confident on the counter.

But yesterday, the pitch hindered us more than our opponents. In the second half we were pinging balls across to Lowton and Taylor and the ball was checking in the grass, rather than zipping into the stride of our players. We saw well over half an hour of Cornet, Taylor combinations and I can’t help but feel that a ‘normal’ length surface (or at least a non-parched one), would’ve helped our play immeasurably.

God yeah I thought we really struggled. They must have had to kick it so hard to get it to even move through that absolute meadow of a pitch.

Grass long, grass short, we need players who can get in position, or create the opportunity to score. Don't blame the opposition manager.

I'd rather support a team in non league than Arsenal with a dopey manager who blames everything other than his own ineptitude. All these big team managers are whinging pussies. Tuchel has been good so far so I'll reserve judgement on him

Let's not look too far we have a manager whinging for 90 mins to the 4th official.

Neil Lennon was also constantly saying things like ...Arsenal are passing the ball Beautifully, nice crisp patterns Burnley just can't get close to them. Burnley really under the cosh etc. Even when the opposite was true.

The match commentator who i'm sure was an Arsenal fan was pretty much the same, lots of snide comments about how physical we are etc. He could also "smell the pies in the air as we approach halftime"

I'd say given the decisions we've had against us and his lack of funds over the last 5 years he's probably had plenty to complain about

So he's complaining to the 4th official that he doesn't get money lool.

Sean had every right to complain about that useless pillock Taylor giving us nothing as Arsenal fouled at will and ignoring a stonewall penalty because his mates in the Arsenal team winged and whined about the decision.

Are you referring to the Vydra incident as the stonewall penalty? tv proved it wasn’t. Putting aside my loyalty to Burnley I thought overall Taylor had a good game.

It just lucky Arsenal didn't play in green. They would have disappeared in the long grass. Just a pity we clip the top of the wildflowers.

Only incident I can recall is the one VAR turned round and that was ultimately the correct decision

Don't go bringing facts into this; when's the truth ever quelled a debate on here?

I sit on front row of Bob Lord, and the pitch on Saturday was like a carpet. Beautiful condition as it’s so early in the season, and they watered it plenty ( both halves ), before the game. Arteta again deflecting from his own, and his team’s’ inadequacies.

Exactly classic deflection technique, move the narrative onto another subject, and all managers do this including Sean.
