Tomiyasu - why no booking for clearly diving?
Tomiyasu - why no booking for clearly diving?
When the Arsenal right back went down in front of the Bob Lord stand it was clearly obvious he was nowhere near any other player.
I thought referee's were now instructed to book players for an obvious dive.

I've only ever seen (from memory) players booked for diving in the opposing penalty area .. A strange one from saturday Pepe kicked
the ball away twice and jumped with his foot up in front of an attempted quickly taken free kick ... Instead of a card he called his
captain over to tell him not to do it again ???

Pepe committed a body check on Cornet who had only just come on, it was a far worse and blatant foul than the one he cautioned Ashley Barnes for in the first half, however, he just chose to let it go. I normally back officials, however, there was certainly no consistency when you look at Westwood's caution for a coming together and one or two fouls committed by Arsenal.

That was a blatant dive in front of the Bob Lord. Should have been a yellow card. I’ve not seen the penalty incident again, could Vydra have been carded?
Has the six second rule for keepers been binned off? I can’t remember the last time I saw someone penalised for holding the ball for too long.
If the rule is still in place, Ramsdale should have been at least warned on Saturday.

Diving is pretty much zero risk. You either win a penalty or just play on. Look at Ronaldo on Sunday, just kept on trying.

Westwoods caution was for a professional foul. Quite deliberate, not a coming togetherAshingtonclaret46 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 7:49 pmPepe committed a body check on Cornet who had only just come on, it was a far worse and blatant foul than the one he cautioned Ashley Barnes for in the first half, however, he just chose to let it go. You'd think an ex referee would know and understand this.Down_Rover wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 10:22 amWestwoods caution was for a professional foul. Quite deliberate, not a coming together

Fernandinho commits a number of professional fouls every game he plays for Man City yet rarely gets booked for them.Down_Rover wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 10:22 amWestwoods caution was for a professional foul. Quite deliberate, not a coming together

Fernandinho got 6 yellow cards in 21 games last season. Only one Burnely player got more yellow cards (Westwood 7) and he played every single league game.
