Not for me. You don't want to rush these kids into the first team of a Premier League side. Maybe by January he'll be ready.

My Newcastle mate just text me and said virtually what you have Vegas, I expect to us it's a no brainer but we don't pick the side.

Well surely Barnes can't start, and Vydra is seemingly out of favour, so by that logic he should have a strong claim.
Culm down now it’s only Rochdale :)

What is our fastest ever hatrick? Jay’s in 12 minutes must be close.

They’re against much lower placed opposition, but a hat trick will do Jay the world of good.
It might well be against a L2 side, but strikers thrive on scoring goals, so it can't do him nay harm.

A 12 minute HT, that must be our quickest for many years.

Wood will definitely start, and he and Jay just don't compliment each other. Both good, but a poor pair. It has to be Vyds on Saturday, although trying to second guess SD is risky.
I should think McNeil has been saved for Saturday, so a bench spot for Max. Hopefully he can affect the game from there.

Yes I know it is, but a confident striker has to start surely.

If not Jay who would you play up front at the weekend?

Dave Roberts on the Comms cam said there were quite a few quicker ones.

Cornet (50'minutes), Vydra (60'minutes), Westwood (62'minutes) assists according to the BBC, meaning they're doing there job and JayRod is doing his, isn't this how it's supposed to work :)

Fair enough I could just about accept Vydra/Wood as a combo, but the one thing I dread seeing on the Saturday team sheet is a Barnes/Wood combo, it might have been effective at one time, but it's well past it's sell by date now, and hopefully SD has finally realised this fact.

Barnes and Wood although Vydra does introduce something different when paired with Wood.

Jay has now scored more goals in the League Cup than any other Burnley player (12)
Andy Lochhead previously held that record with 10

Wood/Rodriguez was a reasonably effective strike partnership last season, highest PPG and goals per game of any partnership (well technically second to Barnes/Rodriguez but they only started 2 games together!)

But Barnes and Wood have been tried, and it's simply not working ATM, so for me Vydra has to replace Barnes, just look at the difference in our play following the subs against Arsenal, we actually caused their defence concerns, whereas in the 1st half we created virtually nothing in an attacking sense.
