Tarky scuffle

Post by wilks_bfc » Tue Sep 21, 2021 10:51 pm

Anybody see what happened here after Jays 3rd goal?

We were all watching the celebrations when we saw all the Rochdale players around Tarky behind the goal

It was the usual "trying to retrieve the ball and they wouldn't let him"

Handbags at 10 paces, that's all.

Don't see why there was the urgency to be honest.

As above, Tarks grabbed the ball after we' d scored and tried to hang on to it, while the Rochdale players tried to get it off him.

Bit of childish pushing and shoving ensued, ref threatened to smack a few wrists, everyone involved remembered they weren't
11 year olds having a kick about in the school playground and the game continued...

Totally unnecessary scuffle, and the yellow card could cost us at some point.

3 yellows I think. Tarks and 2 Rochdale players

Trying to secure the match ball for Jay apparently.

Surely Jay could have received the match ball after the match has actually ended.
Totally pointless booking from Tarks perspective. The game was dead and buried by that time. Part of his role being out there was setting an example, not making an arse of himself.

Cards are only tallied for the same competition and as no doubt we'll have City away in the next round, it won't matter.

It’s a brave person that tries to pick a fight with Tarky.

And if we get an easier draw, win it and he picks up another yellow?

But which is the matchball? It keeps changing nowadays.
I suppose that's useful if two people get a hat-trick, and we should / could have had 2 with hat-tricks last night.

Well yes, in that case I believe it would be a suspension for the Quarter Final, which would be annoying, if I am right in saying you need 2 yellows for a suspension.

Unless we get to the final or maybe the Semi's I doubt Dyche is ever going to play both Tarks and Mee together so if Tarks was suspended then he would get a rest and Mee would play instead

Rule used to be that ball goes to team who have just conceded the goal. Don't know if that is still dso?
