I'd go with that because Leicester have a tall team, we will need 4-5 big lads. I suspect Brownhill will play because of his energy though. I'll be writing a strongly worded letter if Barnes starts after Jay scored 4 :D

With Vydra, Barnes, Cornet all attacking options off bench.

You have to start a striker after scoring 4 - confidence will be great and he’ll score if a chance comes. Cornet doesn’t start yet because clearly he needs a bit longer with fitness and shape according to SD.

I would start Brownhill instead of Westwood but it’s a very close decision

I’ve a feeling that Cornet is going to be a much more effective/dangerous player on the left side of midfield so start him there

If Rodriguez/Wood combination isn’t working then try Vydra/Wood

Cornet is a dangerous option in behind, teams won't be able to squeeze to pitch as much against us, but i don't think he has Dyche levels of discipline in a 442. 433 for me.

I think it says a lot when we have so many different options, now Cornet has shown us his potential. But it's an away game, so Cornet on the bench isn't the worst idea. It gives us him and Vydra to turn to in the second half. You don't score 4 goals and be benched - Jay has to start with Wood.

I'd like us to try a 4-5-1 with Brownhill and Cork playing. But I'm not sure it works in an attacking sense in reality.

I don't mind a keep it tight for an hour game plan then bring on Cornet etc..

But he can't start Barnes now.

Completely agree. SD’s comments are all very much “he’s a great player, settling in well but needs some work defensively”. I agree. He’s been fantastic but nobody can deny he’s been caught out of position a few times and that can cost you away in the Prem.

I’d go with one change - Vydra for Barnes, possibly two and play JRod after his 4 this week. Wood is close to deserving some time on the bench in my opinion.

I’ll be gob smacked if cornet starts in the premier league with us playing a 4-4-2 from what I saw of Dyches body language, gestures and screaming first half Tuesday. I think it will be impact sub for him.

That would be my team. I would not have put Jay in until recent, but fail to see how he cannot start on Saturday after scoring 4 goals, and he has been effective with Wood on a number of games. Wood has a great record v Leicester and I know Leicester fans fear him

Would far rather start Cornet and change after 60-70 minutes if he exposes us defensively. That way we are more likely to be in front, rather than chasing a game if he does not start

I know a lot of Leicester fans and believe me they dread playing against Wood their ex player. He has a phenomenal record v Leicester. Not starting him will be a huge psychological lift to the Leicester team. Jay deserves to start alongside him

Cornet won’t start but he’s an obvious option off the bench. From what dyche said he’s impressed and doesn’t seem too far off starting. Said his fitness is good and mentioned physically he’s good because he was at a big club. Some things to work on shape I would guess. He clearly does have the work rate as he has done some good defensive work for us but sometimes he’s just not quite in our low block shape. I liked the way he was really up for the game on Tuesday and was celebrating with the rest of the team.

I agree with all of the above. I would however have Bardsley in over Lowton. Controversial maybe, but I've always preferred him and watching him against Rochdale (yes it was only Rochdale) he just has more energy and aggression, plus his delivery is better.

Imo Cornet MUST start. His speed and creativity are what we’ve needed for ages (too long to mention). If Dyche feels he isn’t quite ready for our midfield defensive shape when out of possession then play him in a free roaming role behind Wood.

Agree with all of those apart from Cornet & Jay, I suspect JBG and Vydra will start, reasons Cornet is perhaps not up to playing a full 90 in the Prem yet, and harsh as it appears on Jay after bagging 4, our best front 2 is Vyds & Woody.

However finally for what seems the first time in ages we have genuine options for SD to mull over regarding selecting an XI. plus we now have a much stronger bench to change the flow of games, which hasn't always been the case in recent years.

That’s a good point. Last chance at Leicester then

I’d play Vydra over Jay if Wood is playing as think we need Vydra’s movement alongside Wood.

Good shout FCB, I am hoping that with more players SD might be a bit more flexible on formations as they often are overrun/ outnumbered in midfield plus our midfielders are too defensive.

However no slot for Rodrigues? I think you have to start him somewhere.

Jay has proved he is better than Ash but Wood should start. Put Jay next to Wood means no Vydra and a second ball lottery. That limits us, and we probably lose.
Jay should be there to replace Wood at some point. Because he scored against Rochdale doesn't mean he will do it at the Walker stadium We need an alternative to hoof ball percentage football, now we have Max, Vydra and seen that Lennon has pace.

Cornet will not be starting
Sean Dyche still plans to manage Maxwel Cornet’s integration into the Burnley side carefully after the Ivory Coast winger impressed in Tuesday’s 4-1 Carabao Cup win over Rochdale.

I think there's potential in the Vydra Rodriguez partnership but I don't see them ever getting enough game time unless Wood (and maybe Barnes too) gets injured.

Dyche will stick with Wood the same as last season. It worked out in the end, but it's difficult to say whether we'd have done better or worse if he was dropped. He's our most instinctive goalscorer but in my opinion he's a more limited player than Rodriguez.

I really don’t see the point of 4-4-2 at Leicester. In games like this it might as well be 4-4-0. We’ve got to start surprising the opposition because PL teams have completely worked us out now.

I'd go 4-1-4-1

Pope
Lowts, Tarks, Mee, Taylor
Cork
Cornet constantly switching wings with McNeil (O'Neill to my wife) and Westy and Brownhill in midfield. Tempted to play Vydra ahead of Brownhill in a three from four with McNeil and Cornet floating with Vydra. Think that would be a brave move though.
Wood up front.

I think all three of Cornet, McNeil and Vydra could float in a midfield, one taking up the number ten role but none specifically. Simply rotating.

That'd be my team but doubt boss man will go with it.
