Re: Premier League break dates for World Cup
What a mad season next year it's gonna be. What are the start/end dates of the season? Just as normal or is it starting earlier & finishing a little later?

Nothing confirmed yet but believed they will start one week early and finish one week late. FA Cup Final is expected to be played in June in 2023.diamondpocket wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 4:40 pmWhat a mad season next year it's gonna be. What are the start/end dates of the season? Playing international friendlies is complete nonsense given that we have actual competitive games
International games are causing enough interruptions to the league games already

And FIFA always denied there was nothing untoward about how that World Cup was awarded. What a fiasco. Major countries should have simply boycotted it and arranged an opposing tournament.
No football history.
No stadia.
50 degree summer temperatures.
Disruption to leagues due to winter playing.
Nothing was right about the allocation of that world cup finals.

Watching a World Cup at Christmas time will be brilliant though

Guess there’ll be a lot of midweek games that season then!

I wonder what International Managers will make of this.
Last games in Premier League on 12th November, with the tournament starting on 21st.
Not much team preparation going on there, although they should be match fit.

We will be affected as a Premier league club which we will be.
I agree though England should have refused to be part of this fiasco

Shocking from what I’ve read. The only reason I didn’t list that though is because some past hosts have not had the best human rights records. However you are absolutely right.JohnDearyMe wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 11:25 amNot to mention the treatment of the migrant workers who built all the stadiums
