Aston Villa preventing re-sale of tickets
Seems Aston Villa don't like tickets being sold on and have announced a series of punishments for anyone doing so.
Season card holder advertising ticket for one home game at 1/19th of total cost or non season card holder advertising ticket at face value
1st offence: 3 league game ban
2nd offence: 9 league game ban
3rd offence: 19 league game ban
Same but offering at a higher price
1st offence: 9 league game ban
2nd offence: 19 league game ban
Same on away tickets

If you are banned for three games can you then sell your three games for a premium without missing a game, might work out a sound investment over a season.

Unfortunately no. Your ticket is suspended.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 6:56 pmIf you are banned for three games can you then sell your three games for a premium without missing a game, might work out a sound investment over a season.

I like your idea but the season card/ticket would be invalid or un-useable ...elwaclaret wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 6:56 pmIf you are banned for three games can you then sell your three games for a premium without missing a game, might work out a sound investment over a season.
There are many people up and down the land who share season tickets/cards and share the costs too ... do Villa punish them if there are Villains that do that..

Just further along than Burnley are in the process.
Burnley restrict ticket sales to people with a clarets number, you're currently unable to register as a new person and I'm sure I've seen that people need some purchase history with the club for certain tickets.
They've also reiterated the need to carry ID, to ensure the ticket is yours.
Other clubs ask people to pay for a seasonal membership fee, this then allows you to buy tickets.
Villa are just further along.
It was said tickets for Newcastle's game against Utd were swapping hands for thousands because it was Ronaldo's first game back.
It's happened for other teams over the years.

Rovers fans sold their tickets to City Fans a number of years ago when City played them last game of the season at Boll-E-Wood ...GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 8:19 pmJust further along than Burnley are in the process.

Am I missing something or has the resale of football tickets been illegal for a while now?? or was I dreaming that?

Pretty sure the terms and conditions forbid you lending or "selling" your season ticket and ID may be required.ClaretDiver wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 8:37 pmAm I missing something or has the resale of football tickets been illegal for a while now?? or was I dreaming that?
It's just never really been enforced by any club, but there appears to have been a shift over the last few years to try and stop away fans in the home end and the reselling of tickets.

Joking aside, I think this is a reasonable step. Clubs are held to account for those in the ground tickets being sold randomly to the highest bidder ‘profile’ can only end in tears, eventually.

Villa have a system in place to allow the resale of a seat if you have a ST and can't attend.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 9:23 pmall good if Villa offer you a refund for your ticket if you can't go, otherwise it's a **** take
Generally most season ticket holders are well aware they may miss a game or two in the season, it's just one of those things.
