c19 pre-travel covid test

Post by basil6345789 » Thu Sep 23, 2021 12:04 pm

Going to Portugal next month and they still, at this stage, require an antigen, or PCR test (negative result, of course) for entry. Has anyone used one of those where you self-test at home then email a photo of the result next to your passport, for a certificate by return email. Has anyone used c19 and are they ok, please? Ta.

I used them last month for Greece. Simple process and it has a step by step guide when you scan the QR. I had the result certificate within about 4 hours.

If you’re double jabbed you just need to show proof of that.

Got back from Portugal yesterday after 2 fantastic weeks.
For entry you need to have proof of being double-jabbed and a lateral flow antigen test taken up to 48 hrs before departure, plus your passenger locator form.
As we live only 8 miles from the airport, we went to the drop-in testing there for the LFT 2 days before our flight.
Returning, we simply attended a drop-in clinic near to us (Lagos, Algarve) and had the LFT done there, the bonus being tests are capped at €25 euros pp.
Booked a return Day 2 home PCR test with Randox.
Job done.
Enjoy your holiday, we certainly did.

I’m traveling to the uk Monday for 11 days from USA
Maximum of 3 days before travel need to get a PCR test
Then 2 days in the UK have to get a covid test then 3 days before returning to the US have to have another test
Bit of a pain in the ass all these test and the cost is not cheap especially that I have been vaccinated
But will feel it’s worth it when I’m down the Turf for the Norwich game👍😎

Simply send them a photo of the needle marks on your arm.

The NHS app has the vaccination passport thing on it where it shows you’ve had both jabs and gives a QR Code

You don’t need to have the nhs app to get the vaccination certificate. Just google vaccination certificate and it will take you step by step through signing up to receive it.

I think he was referring to a poster above claiming you only needed vaccination proof for entry to Portugal.
In fact you need both proof of vaccination AND a negative antigen lateral flow test.
Plus of course, your passenger locator form.

I genuinely didn't know how I prove that Ive been double jabbed. I don't have the NHS app.

I had the NHS Covid app, but switched it off when I kept getting notifications that someone I had been near MAY have been tested positive. I didn't need that in my life, so I just deactivated it.

If you go on the NHS website it tells you exactly what to do.
We've done two methods. We got a paper copy sent through the post and we also got an online certificate which we have saved on our phones.
It's nothing to do with any App, and it's free.
It took about 3 minutes to do online, and the paper copy arrived after about 3 days.

I went to Portugal 4 weeks ago and didn't need any test to enter the country. It must have recently changed... or I got lucky haha!

Www.dochq.co.uk. Use the promo code BR1ST30 and it costs £25 per test. You can buy them for your return trip as well. They send you the kits in the post and you make a booking to have a video call with a medic who takes you through the test then emails you the certificate immediately. I had this done last week and it was easy. Booked in for our Pre departure for the home bound trip as well

I don’t know about Portugal but here in Croatia they did random checks at passport control. I suppose to keep queues down. I didn’t have to show any test results but my wife did.

You may be getting confused with the track and trace app. The NHS app doesn't ping you, its for repeat prescriptions, flu appointments etc.

No you can get a letter from the NHS ... my Mrs and Brother have one (I have the app) because they don't have smartphones....

No just go on the NHS website and it gives you the various options.
One of them is to make a simple phone call and ask for your certificate to be posted free of charge to you.
You can also order it online.
It takes just a couple of minutes. Really not something to worry you.
My 90 year old dad did it himself ages ago.

I've brought C-19 lateral flows for the trip I'm currently on. The reviews were positive, I'll report back in a few days.

Update
Took test at 11:30am and result certified via email 5hours later.

Easy enough to follow, just need passport and Internet access for email registration

I’ll do an update as well. I used Dochq before going to Croatia and again this morning for my return trip. It’s a video test and you get the certificate immediately

For anyone that is travelling, I’d recommend printing out forms. It was much quicker in both departure and arrival airports for those with print outs.

Good advice - it also gets rid of the risk of your various links not working. I used Dante for my two day return PCR test and my test came back "inconclusive" and my retest result didn't even come back....it seems they are being investigated for their shambolic performance.
Probably run by Matt Hancock's newsagent...

My Dante test back negative pretty fast. Dante linked to lab giving incorrect results today...

I used Dante after coming back from Spain five weeks ago. The result was "inconclusive" and I was supposed to isolate until my new result came back afterthe retest they said they were going to do. As if.
Needless to say, I've heard absolutely nothing since. I don't know if they have friends in government but it seems their operation is a little suspect to say the least.
