Again your ability to skew stats for your narrative is quite common. I’ll point out (again) that out of those 64 appearances probably more than half have been 5 minute substitute appearances when we are losing or hoofing.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 9:40 amIn 64 appearances for us he has 6 goals and 5 assists. He’s a great player that stretches defences but I understand why Dyche doesn’t prefer him. He very rarely contributes to the team with goals or assists.
For the record I’m not suggesting we drop him, I am just suggesting that he needs to do more with his opportunities. He beat the last defender 3-4 times yesterday and fumbled the ball.

No skewing anything, in the same time Barnes has made 78 appearances with plenty of them coming from the bench and with a big injury in the middle. He has 21 goals in that time period compared to Vydras 6.
No one ever seems to complain Vydras record but they are happy to call out Barnes.

To be fair if you ignore their stats when we lose all our players look great.

Vydra was excellent yesterday but he remains a frustrating player. How often does he get goal side but get caught or outmuscled. At least he's getting in those positions and I'd have him in ahead of Barnes every time as we play far better football, just as we do with Jay. Needs to add some goals though.

He has the speed but not the physical strength so often muscled out by a canny defender.Having said that he made our second goal by his running and cross. Last week won a pen that should have been given. Barnes lack of speed would have achieved neither

Not sure he does have the speed tbh. He's quicker than the other 3 forwards but still not particularly quick.

He’s quick but not rapid. Remember though yesterday he was caught by soyuncu, who as well as being an excellent defender, was recorded (if I’m not mistaken) as one of the fastest players in the league.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 12:57 pmHe has the speed but not the physical strength so often muscled out by a canny defender.Having said that he made our second goal by his running and cross. Well if he doesn’t, he’s certainly going to have to fork out for another striker who can do the same!Iloveyoubrady wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 9:30 amWe’ll see over the course of the season whether he genuinely just needed to get fitter again, or whether Barnes is preferred. If Vydra does leave in the summer, I don’t blame him. He’s a good little player and after 4 years here he has played 64 times. It’s sad to see his talent go to waste. He could have scored hatfuls in the championship or even a good number in the prem if he’d been given a good run in a side. Let’s hope he has a good season and Alan can work the magic in convincing him to stay.

He is quick off the mark, which is what strikers need to be.quoonbeatz wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 1:01 pmNot sure he does have the speed tbh. He's quicker than the other 3 forwards but still not particularly quick.
