100%. He’s a star and his passion coming into a new team in a different country is also great to see. Given the whole club, but particularly the fans, a huge lift. Hopefully he’ll be fine and carry on this season to get us climbing up that table.

There was real chemistry today between him and our fans.They will inspire each other

Cornet and Vydra look like a fantastic combination, We are a different team with them on form.
I really hope he hasn’t got a serious injury.

If he stays away from many/serious injuries, we'll make a hefty profit on him when he does eventually move on. He's on a 5 year contract, but I wonder if there's any clause allowing him to leave if we go down.

Based on what we've seen so far he's going to be in demand come the end of the season.

Well we have managed to hold on to Mcneil for this season so who knows regarding Max

The problem for other clubs signing McNeil is that he’s not scored many goals and isn’t a “star player” so given he will cost a lot it is hard to justify for the Evertons/West Hams.

Re Dwight he still keeps drifting in and out of games
Yesterday when Max went off I expected him to step up and raise his game unfortunately he was anonymous at times.He is a star but we need to play to his strengths which isnt as a right winger

I agree but think he’d be much more influential in the middle (like he was at Crystal Palace) but we won’t see that unless we change formation. So it’s either Dwight learns to play right as well as left or moves back over to the left.

He’s played less than one half of a league game. Maybe it’s time to reign in the expectations. I’ll reserve judgement until he’s played a few more matches.

Dwight has IMO carried this team since January 2019. Let’s see what if Cornet can do the same.

It’s just typical our best players play in the same ducking position.

That’s the thing though. We want them both firing on all cylinders. How good would it be to have two good wingers creating from both sides.

He's the first genuinely exciting signing since Defour 5 years ago

We have made some decent signings since but aside from Dwight's emergence it has otherwise been all about effective football

This could be a real opportunity to energize
the club on and off the pitch

Another benefit that Cornet could give us is that it should give the club more confidence in shopping abroad.

As we all know, our target pool of players has always been incredibly small as it's basically been freebies, loans, and lower league players. We clearly did our homework on Cornet and whatever we did we did it correctly. No reason why Cornet can't be the first of many more quality overseas players joining us.

While MC looks a great and exciting talent and signing , as the 2nd bottom prem club whipping boys ,playing an early relegation dog fight against our fellow masochists Norwich ,some of the giddy enthusiasm maybe worth reigning in a touch .

While personally I remain optimistic, and I don’t think the results tell the full story ,we’re still critically short of any midfield talent and could find ourselves stone bottom on Sat afternoon .
