good initiative but who is gonna buy all those tickets? People who haven't been on for a while are suddenly gonna find 8 others to go on with like that.
Does include kids or only adults?

This is totally unnecessary, given we had a capacity crowd for the Arsenal game.

So would save at least £25 for an adult or £1 a child

Re: Ticket offer for Norwich and Brentford games.
Anyone know why the club aren't willing/able to offer Season Tickets now? Obviously people probably wouldn't buy them if they were charged full price but surely a pro-rate priced ticket based on how many games are still to go should be possible to administer! I know that we probably haven't done this before but we need to be creative and think out of the box to get lapsed ST holders back on board and attract some new ones following recent signings and the Manager committing himself to the Club for 4 years.

Re: Ticket offer for Norwich and Brentford games.
I don't think the manager committing to the club for 4 years would be much of a selling point for some.
I know a lapsed season ticket holder who just won't pay for the brand of football SD has been serving up.
People want to be entertained and for the last few seasons, entertainment has been a little lacking in a good number of games.

So we get rid of the guy who has kept us in the PL since 2016, risk relegation still further, just to get a few people in who expect us to play tica taca?Barry_Chuckle wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 3:40 pmI don't think the manager committing to the club for 4 years would be much of a selling point for some.

Probably better with a season ticket for the cinema for entertainment
Re: Ticket offer for Norwich and Brentford games.
You may be happy giving Sean a free pass re our poor transfer market performance but I personally think that's a big ask as he plays a big part in many aspects of BFC's strategy. Money is only part of the issue, we appear to have been reluctant to fish in lower/non-league ponds. When we do take players on loan they rarely get a look in either.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 2:20 pmOr is it that SD needs someone to back him and he wasn't getting the backing he needed or wanted?
His blind loyalty to a number of players who bar losing a limb are nailed on starters despite being woefully out of form it does test fans patience on an ongoing basis.
I am not after Sean's head far from it and with AP's help introducing him to a different transfer approach, this will hopefully work wonders and get us on the front foot more often.

Obviously not, but for some people the prospect of a relegation battle every season isn't that appealing. Particularly when the football generally isn't that great to watch.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 3:44 pmSo we get rid of the guy who has kept us in the PL since 2016, risk relegation still further, just to get a few people in who expect us to play tica taca?

Re: Ticket offer for Norwich and Brentford games.
What do you reckon they will do with people who have already bought a full price
ticket for the Norwich game, as a mate of mine has done ?
As for season tickets, Wigan rugby club sold me a season ticket with the money
deducted for the matches that I had already attended. Perhaps this another means
of increasing sales.

Nothing I wouldn't have thought - the offer is only open for groups of 10 although a group of 4 would get a saving.Funkydrummer wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 4:27 pmWhat do you reckon they will do with people who have already bought a full price

So in that case, am I correct in presuming that it would still count as 10 tickets sold?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 4:33 pmNothing I wouldn't have thought - the offer is only open for groups of 10 although a group of 4 would get a saving.

And hopefully they'd try and pass them on to friends or family that wouldn't normally go on, or at worst case give them away.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 5:57 pmI'd think so. The England U21 game had a similar offer on.
Only issue now is youd struggle to get 2 rows of 5 together or at least some 3s and a 4.
You cant offer to take on friends, family and/or their kids if you're all dotted about.
Great incentive, however possibly just all tickets £10wiuld have been better.

Re: Ticket offer for Norwich and Brentford games.
Hi Leisure, I didn't know that STs were not on sale at present. However, I can see why the club wouldn't sell ST for anything less than full price. It could result in people waiting until September to buy their ST and wanting it at a discount because they've been away on holiday in August. I can see good logic in selling ST and refunding the money already spent on tickets prior to buying a ST. That costs the club nothing and gains a ST holder. I can also see the benefit of the club selling half-season tickets for the second half of the season (but never doing this for the first half).Leisure wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 3:24 pmAnyone know why the club aren't willing/able to offer Season Tickets now? In response to some asking "why groups of 10?" "why not smaller groups?" I'm sure the club is thinking if a group of 10 come on a game and the deal is reinforced with priority sales for 5 big games (Everton on Boxing Day, ManU 8-Feb, Liverpool 12-Feb, Chelsea 5-March and City 2-April) there's a good chance that one or two will become ST holders in future seasons.
Interesting, of course, the groups of 10 could be made up of 1 Burnley fan and 9 mates who are fans of Everton, Manu, Liverpool and City, giving those 9 access to t'Turf for the game when their team is the opposition. Anyone know what the requirements are for buying these 10 tickets? Names individuals? Addresses? Club number?

We're talking about the present, not the past. A look at our home support and away followings would suggest lots of people are bored watching us at present.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 4:32 pmYou do know we've had two top ten finishes in the PL, don't you?
Re: Ticket offer for Norwich and Brentford games.
Hi Paul - The 1/2 season ticket suggestion was only for the 2nd half of the season. I don't think that if there was a pro-rata ST it would interest existing ST holders who might be away early in the season, as they would lose their seat. But if the Club do want to get back onboard this season they need to come up with an option that allows them to purchase a ticket ASAP without financially penalising them. They need to do something, as if they don't they risk not getting them back next season.Paul Waine wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 7:08 pmHi Leisure, I didn't know that STs were not on sale at present. It seems it's the same at other Prem clubs, not just us though, with lots of empty seats up and down the country.

I'll bet those were the big clubs with massive waiting lists for season tickets. Southampton at the weekend was about 2000 below capacity.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 10:09 pmReally? I have watched a few games on tv (notably the better fixtures) but they seem to have full attendances?
Re: Ticket offer for Norwich and Brentford games.
I posted this link to the Crystal Palace forum, as one example, and their comments pretty much match ours. The only reason I found that link was because their gate against Brighton was over 3k below capacity:Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 10:09 pmReally? Now, it may be that just ourselves and Palace are struggling a bit, but when their comments are similar to ours I suspect other fans up and down the country have similar views.
Re: Ticket offer for Norwich and Brentford games.
This is one comment that was similar:
"People have got out of the habit and the prices aren't going to lure the undecided back
Over £50 in the Main Stand, and a lot of those seats have pillars in the way
Palace won't do anything about the prices, they have already proved that they can survive without fans for a year"

Re: Ticket offer for Norwich and Brentford games.
And having had a quick look on the forum for Wolves fans:
"My own take why some home tickets are still available is the price. I sit in BW the ticket is now £50 (Cat A). People voting with their feet and watching it on tv.
If ground extended with cheaper more affordable seats I think we would be ok no where need Liverpool attendance but it would help grow fan base definitely."

Re: Ticket offer for Norwich and Brentford games.
All clubs are struggling to fill stadiums, aside from a handful of the really big clubs. Pep was complaining about City’s attendances recently, Leicester I noticed lots of empty seats.
I’m quite surprised - was expecting a mad rush on tickets given we were starved of live football for so long.

I agree with this. In hindsight, the Phase 1, 2, 3 thing was completely unnecessary (although I understood the logic at the time).Leisure wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 8:46 pmAbove post amended -

I see Paul’s point and in normal years I think a full or half season ticket would be entirely sufficient but this year we should make an exception and open them up with a 1/19th discount for every game played.

Re: Ticket offer for Norwich and Brentford games.
Who actually has 9 mates ?
Re: Ticket offer for Norwich and Brentford games.
You don't need 9, 3 will do it to get you a discount.
That bit of maths, when people figure it out, might cause a bit of a backfire as there will be 6 empty seats that they were hoping to fill, and no one else can buy them.

Re: Ticket offer for Norwich and Brentford games.
Good point, in a way. Iam sure a lot of us do have 9 mates, but some will already have tickets, some don't like football, some live away, so to actually find 9 mates, who want tickets for those games could be quite difficult for most.
