Re: Shareholders' letter
Would I be right in thinking that copies of our shares will be returned as a keepsake, although totally worthless?

Re: Shareholders' letter
If all the small shareholders had got together in a small shareholders association they could have perhaps been a force for a more positive role at the club - properly organised they may have been able to have forced a seat on the board - successive owners/boards have managed to keep them well enough divided that it seems this was never a consideration of any apart from the clarets trust, whose own well intentioned initiative was somewhat flawed in model and execution. It must be remembered that it was the right of the directors to block any proposed sale of shares (I right that was once regularly used) and to even offer themselves as alternative purchasers. This allowed them to also control the share price

What have the trust done with their shares? I wondered how many they would have by now?Chester Perry wrote: ↑Thu Mar 10, 2022 2:31 pmIf all the small shareholders had got together in a small shareholders association they could have perhaps been a force for a more positive role at the club - properly organised they may have been able to have forced a seat on the board - successive owners/boards have managed to keep them well enough divided that it seems this was never a consideration of any apart from the clarets trust, whose own well intentioned initiative was somewhat flawed in model and execution. They have 137 shares and elected not to sell - one of the last things Peter Pike got actively involved in trying to ensureŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Thu Mar 10, 2022 2:36 pmWhat have the trust done with their shares? I wondered how many they would have by now?

Re: Shareholders' letter
I've had the money into my bank account and received the gold card through the post, but can't seem to view my points and can't login to my team card account, so lots of toing and froing ahead for me, I fear. A bit of a faff... Anyone else in the same boat? I don't think I have ever logged into teamcard before now, as I always went through the club website... help?!
Re: Shareholders' letter
I doubt it to be honest. The minority shareholding was so minimal that if a seat was offered it would just be down to goodwill, in which case the shareholding was irrelevant.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Thu Mar 10, 2022 2:31 pmIf all the small shareholders had got together in a small shareholders association they could have perhaps been a force for a more positive role at the club - properly organised they may have been able to have forced a seat on the board - successive owners/boards have managed to keep them well enough divided that it seems this was never a consideration of any apart from the clarets trust, whose own well intentioned initiative was somewhat flawed in model and execution. Re: Shareholders' letter
What makes you think that all the small shareholders agree on issues? or even that their input would be a positive?Chester Perry wrote: ↑Thu Mar 10, 2022 2:31 pmIf all the small shareholders had got together in a small shareholders association they could have perhaps been a force for a more positive role at the club - properly organised they may have been able to have forced a seat on the board - successive owners/boards have managed to keep them well enough divided that it seems this was never a consideration of any apart from the clarets trust, whose own well intentioned initiative was somewhat flawed in model and execution. I was surprised that the Trust didn’t sell - £100k and the club credit could have benefited a lot of young players or local clubs.

2 The club said didn’t know it wasn’t working but would resolve
3 They didn’t

If you’ve never logged into TeamCard just register using the info on your TeamCard.whentheballmoves wrote: ↑Thu Mar 10, 2022 10:27 pmI've had the money into my bank account and received the gold card through the post, but can't seem to view my points and can't login to my team card account, so lots of toing and froing ahead for me, I fear. I didn’t realise the Trist had elected not to sell their shares.
Madness.
Madness.
Re: Shareholders' letter
I suspect that the Trust couldn't just sell them and pivot to something else (e.g. grassroots football) without changing their constitution. Or whether it's possible at all given that the money was given with the aim of buying shares.

The Trust’s objects do not permit the distribution of assets to the membership.
My Gold card worked well when renewing season tickets at the Turf yesterday.

it gave me an email address to contact. Tried that, bounced back. This could rumble on... quite hard to spend £2.5 grand on a card like this, never mind the fact i am an hour and a half away from Burnley!!!
I've emailed the shareholder address, see if I get a reply.

Re: Shareholders' letter
Just got an email from the club that states my share isn’t for “Burnley fc holdings” for which the sales process applies. My share is for “Burnley Football & Athletic co”
Anyone else had this issue? My share was from the free season ticket refund?

Re: Shareholders' letter
I'm lucky enough to have had everything but my daughter hasn't had anything through (cash nor card) other than the emails which came through eveey now and again which suggested everything's on track.
I had a word with her yesterday and suggested she contacts the club to try and sort out what's going on (or what's gone wrong).

Re: Shareholders' letter
Didn't sell mine. Couldn't figure out what I'd do with 28K of credit with BFC
Re: Shareholders' letter
The more I think about it the more i wonder how ALK thought they could make any money out of Burnley FC.
Re: Shareholders' letter
I think they were hoping to start creaming off the Sky money and now it will be parachute payments. The revenue they were hoping to get from "Brand Burnley " never really materialised and certainly wont now.
Re: Shareholders' letter
Staying in the PL and selling up if and when the PL brand gets bigger.
Remember they didn't risk a lot. They risked (according to most accounts) £15m, now increased by the minority shareholders buy-out. For the potential rewards, for venture capitalists, that's presumably a risk worth taking.
