Southampton Parking

Post by 7decades » Tue Oct 19, 2021 11:11 am

I would be very obliged if anybody could advise some parking information for saturdays game. Due to mobility problems I would need to be parked near to the ground.

Thanks for any help you can give

How close? Parking isn't good at Southampton.

We always park at Royal South Hants Hospital, and will be doing so this weekend given the price of the trains. Its always quiet at the weekend and is about 15min walk from the ground.

Last time we went we parked as close as we could find because of Storm Dennis. I'm sure it was the Hindu Temple about 5-10 mins walk away on Radcliffe Road.

Without being able to check my ticket, are we in the north eastern corner of the ground, or the south west corner??

Last time I was there (a few years ago) it was the NE corner as we had the sun in our eyes on a February day

There used to be a pub a few roads away where you could park easily. It was run by someone who looked just like the Turin Shroud but I don’t think it’s there anymore.

If seats are in that northern stand then Ocean Quay Marina's probably closer. ;)

Parking over at West Quay and then walking over - hotels over that way! Thanks for the advice though!

Any recommendations for away friendly pubs ( preferably with real ale on) pre/after match please?

It's about a 25 min walk from the ground and going away from the city centre but Olaf's Tun is a decent real ale place

Southampton is a dreadful city, one of the very worst. The people who populate the city centre make the citizens of Burnley look healthy, wealthy and wise. I spent 2 years there.

That said, there is a cluster of pubs and food places on Oxford Street which are quite nice, not too far from the ground.

I know that he is or was a great bloke. But he was the Turin Shoud. Has he been whisked off to the V and A?
