Parking overnight in Clitheroe
Parking overnight in Clitheroe
Evening all. I'm going to a wedding night do tomorrow at Homes Mill. Does anyone know of anywhere I could leave the car until the next day? I'm unlikely to get on the venue car park (if there even is one).

I usually park at the side streets off waddington road towards brungerley park it’s about a 10/15 min walk from the venue though as a disadvantage.
Re: Parking overnight in Clitheroe
There is a small car park there and you are allowed to park overnight, however, as you’ve identified you’re unlikely to get on it. Failing that drive up Greenacre Street past St James school and try and park on one of the streets off there. There’s an entrance to Holmes Mill on Greenacre Street so it won’t be a long walk.

I’m surprised more people don’t use it to be honest. Although it’s got so much busier with residents parking over the last 20 years or so.

I think more people especially families go on the sculpture trail the park is always busy when I attend & the footpath is popular with people going to chatburn.claret2018 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 15, 2021 7:44 pmI’m surprised more people don’t use it to be honest. Worst thing about that place is the lack of bar staff. Takes forever to get served.

There’s a long stay car park at the top of Whalley Road right across from Holmes Mill.

Yep, you feel like the invisible man. There can be four of them doing nowt and they stubbornly refuse to spot you! Can get rough at weekends as well, stopped going.claret2018 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 15, 2021 8:08 pmWorst thing about that place is the lack of bar staff. Takes forever to get served.

That’ll be because Blackburn types get in there. They don’t know how to behave.Hendrickxz wrote: ↑Sat Oct 16, 2021 9:17 amYep, you feel like the invisible man. There can be four of them doing nowt and they stubbornly refuse to spot you! Can get rough at weekends as well, stopped going.

Yes it seems to be the place that attracts all the out of towners, often your old scallies.Hendrickxz wrote: ↑Sat Oct 16, 2021 9:17 amYep, you feel like the invisible man. There can be four of them doing nowt and they stubbornly refuse to spot you! Can get rough at weekends as well, stopped going.
I don’t think it was ever any good, bit of an odd place really and not a fan of Bowland beer at all. Much better bars up town now.

Less trendy, but i very much like Rawtenstall for a day on quality beer. Start off in the place in the old Train station building and work back towards Burnley from there, ending in the White Lion? (i think) then on the x43 home. Plenty of little places to get a pint and you can probably not have 2 of the same one all day if that floats your boat.claret2018 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 10:04 amYes it seems to be the place that attracts all the out of towners, often your old scallies.
