After seeing Roberts in the recent Welsh games I’m not sure he’ll get that opportunity in this team, as good as Tripps is.

Sounds like he's a fan of Southgate too.

Yup. Can’t disagree with that, and can’t see it happening anyway, but still, it’s nice to see the lad still has an affection for us, although it seems to be more about Dyche than Burnley.

Can’t see it happening, not least because I’m not sure we need him now, albeit nice to read.

I’d have him back in a heartbeat. Lad’s got far more experience and he was wonderful for us. So many of Ing's, Austin’s and Gray’s goals were the result of a Trippier cross.

Did Trippier and Gray even play in the same team?

I was thinking that. I'm sure trips and ings left the pre-season before we won the league which is when we signed Gray

Great final sentence in the article: "At the end of my career maybe I could play for Dyche again, then get a coaching role with him. Perfect. I’m always on his case as well.”

Hasn't he just captained the national team...?

He has, but that was a well deserved gesture for a long-serving player.

My point though was more that I’ve become a big fan of Lowts. I don’t think he’s put a foot wrong this season or last. If I could fault him this year it’d be that he hasn’t got forward as much, although we have been playing some of the better teams so far. That is where you would expect Tripps to improve us.

With Robert’s coming in, I can’t see that another RB is a priority. You could argue you choose 2 from three of them for the RB/RW positions, but then where do McNeil/Cornet fit in?

Anyway, all a bit immaterial because I get the sense from this article that he sees us as a “last stop” in his career and I imagine he doesn’t think he’s ready for that just yet.

Lowton = Roberts
Bardsley = Trippier

I'd see that dynamic working just fine 1 or 2 years down the line

Just replace Gray with Vokes.

Perhaps he could add to the relentless winning mentality.

Didn’t he used to say “ if I ever came back to the prem it would be Burnley /SD” He’l not ship up here till he’s past it ,though we all need that final payday . If only we had the likes of Trips/Ings now

Kieran Trippier was great with us, doesn't mean we have to extend his (PL) career.
Would he be keen to play 2nd tier football?

We could only DREAM of getting him. Are you deluded we don’t need him ? :lol:

He’s only just turned 31, In every England squad and has just captained his country. Won the La Liga title, scored a WORLD CUP semi final. But some of you would prefer a Welsh international that’s only ever played Championship :lol:

We couldn’t afford his wages, maybe in 2 or 3 years.

It's the same stupid lot who said Grealish, Lingard and Abraham weren't good enough for Burnley.

I can see him being a very good manager in the future hopefully for us.
