Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Seven changes I think to the team tonight which is:
Sam Waller, Ethen Vaughan, Harry Williams, Jake Rooney, Calen Gallagher-Allison, Ne-Jai Tucker, Ben Woods, Mark Helm, Dara Costelloe, Max Thompson, Sam Unwin. Subs: Charlie Casper, Jacob Bedeau, Owen Dodgson, Michael Mellon, Joe McGlynn.

The 2 linos look like twins. Weird
Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Penalty to Peterborough for an almost identical challenge by our keeper to the one on Vydra in the Norrwich game. 0 1 to Posh!

Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Just seen an incident almost identical to the Vydra one against Norwich, penalty given against our keeper. Oops, just seen other post

Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Losing 1-0 pen foul by keeper
Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Watching on TV using youtube app ... not a bad picture
Its a pity about the penalty ... considering what happened to Vyds in almost identical circumstances the other week and not given ...

Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Huge error by posh keeper
Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Losing 2-1. Good goal
Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Very slow on the left side of defence for that Posh goal, 1-2 now.
Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
I'm not getting excited by what I'm seeing.
Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Poor half. Plenty of the ball but no final ball
Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Both keepers looking dodgy
Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
It's only HT see what the next half shows.

Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Not at our best.
hard to understand the change of formation considering how well we've been doing recently.
Thomas and Bedeau, neither selected, look far better than the 3 CBs on the pitch tonight (IMO, of course)

Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Obviously giving other players an opportunity and rightly so. Only Waller, Woods, Helm & Tucker in from last week’s team.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 7:51 pmNot at our best.

1-2 half time. Need a few changes 2nd Half.
Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Are our players all full time pros or are some not tonight?

Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Waller & Mellon in the starting eleven & Casper on the bench are scholars in the youth team. Rooney & McGlynn are still scholars but third years. All the others have professional contracts.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 8:07 pmI think only Casper and Mellon are Under 18s still, Tony may be able to confirm ? All the others are I think U23s , or Full Time pros for us oldies
Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Thanks, well if our number 6 (on that first half performance) is anything to go by may be on a free at the end of the season.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 8:07 pmI think only Casper and Mellon are Under 18s still, Tony may be able to confirm ? Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Some of the Peterborough players are looking a bit unfit. Maybe cramp setting in. Could be a way back into this game yet.

Surely there are some better players on the bench.

Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Burnley are getting worst not better.
Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Birdy doing his best. But a combination of Posh time wasting and our poor play making it a tough watch
Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Poor team this lot, where's Nartey, Gomez Mancini, Richardson, Thomas, Glennon, Harker?
Seems strange to play u18s at u23 level while many of the actual u23s are on the fringes of the first team bench.

I think the average fan doesn’t really understand all the development side at this level and 18 year olds filling in to see how they get on, can you imagine the groans in a full stadium

Nartey is at Mansfield on loan...Gomez Mancini, Richardson and Harker are injured
Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
No idea in front of goal.
Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s

Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Of course I understand giving other players a game, what I don't understand is changing formation when the original 4-4-2 has seen a 7 game unbeaten run.

Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
Whichever way you dress that up it was a poor performance. Real lack of ideas going forward.
Re: ARTICLE: Back to the cup for the under-23s
I guess tonight's lack of performance makes sense then, missing a ton of key players, playing a few u18 lads and generally rested a couple on the bench.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 8:57 pmThey play again in 3 days time ..they may well be back for that
