Spartak Moscow v Leicester
Game coming to an end in Moscow with Leicester leading 4-2 and Patson Daka scoring all 4 Leicester goals. They do seem to have a fantastic scouting/recruitment set up there.

True, but it's one thing having the money but another thing finding the right players.

But it helps when you spend a lot of that money on recruitment in the first place. Not sure who heads it up now since Steve Walsh moved to Everton.claretburns wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 5:19 pmTrue, but it's one thing having the money but another thing finding the right players.

Agree about their scouting system and that they have plenty of money, they also have a fantastic Manager at the helm.claretburns wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 5:13 pmThey do seem to have a fantastic scouting/recruitment set up there.

Lots of things the club does well. Defending is not one of them

Vestergaard seemed an odd signing.warksclaret wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 5:23 pmLots of things the club does well. Defending is not one of them

"We're gonna score one more than you" has been a tactic advocated in a football anthem I believe.

Just completely off topic Tony, I received an e-mail about first goal sweep, I have just sent some money over for further entries if you can confirm this has been received please?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 5:21 pmBut it helps when you spend a lot of that money on recruitment in the first place. Also the link on the e-mail you sent, this link sent me to a dead page which states "Page 404 not found, the post or page you requested is no longer available".
Just letting you know in case this link needs updating to other people you send this to. Cheers.

It was a last minute signing as Forfana picked up a serious injury (out until at least the new year) and Johnie Evans also got injured. Bear in mind with a lot of games due to the Europa they were exposed at CH . I saw Vestergaard at Leicester v Man City recently and he was their best defender.

I don't really think it's great scouting. Daka played for RB Salzburg before so not exactly under the limelight. It is there scouting that deserves praise.
Leicester have just raised their profile by finishing high in the league and getting into Europe so they are able to attract these players. They also have ridiculous cash to afford bigger wages.

Re: Spartak Moscow v Leicester
Been doing it for ages though haven't they? Where were we for the likes of Vardy and Wood originally? Well the answer is for the former we passed (presumably too quick) and for the latter we waited until he cost £15m.
Re: Spartak Moscow v Leicester
They sold Maguire for £80m too don’t forget. Plus getting into Europe every season adds to revenue.

Re: Spartak Moscow v Leicester
When they signed Vardy for a million from non-league Fleetwood, we signed Sam Vokes from Wolves. That was Howe's last summer with us. As for Wood, Leicester signed him in the January window after they'd signed Vardy. Not sure we had any money at the time to sign either of them to be honest.

Admin FC, let's not forget they didn't pay for most of the stadium, didn't pay their staff and didn't even pay for the Ambulance service to attend games. Got lucky with the takeovers
Re: Spartak Moscow v Leicester
That squad they won the league with was put together with absolutely nothing too.
£22m for Kasper, Simpson, Huth, Morgan, Fuchs, Mahrez, Kante, Drinkwater, Albrighton, Okazaki.
With £7m of that for Ozakazi and £6m for Kante.
