Re: Luke Shaw
don't be daft, a poor 45 mins against one of the best teams in the world doesn't constitute Jose being right about anything. The way he treated Shaw was abhorrent

Re: Luke Shaw
Shaw has probably been one of the best left backs in the league over the past 18 months, if not the best.
One half against Liverpool, when in a poor team, does not change that.

Re: Luke Shaw
Shaw - useless
Maguire - donkey
Stones - liability
Pickford - just in for his kicking
Southgate must have worked miracles to coach this lot into one of Europe's best defences last summer

Re: Luke Shaw
He’s been poor all season and has been absolutely show up today. At fault for all 3 goals. If he’s been the best left back for the last 18 months it’s an indictment on the rest of the league.
Re: Luke Shaw
Shaw has been very good domestically and internationally for a while now. Mourinho's public criticism of him was disgraceful.

Collectively shambolic display by United. Surely Ole won't survive this.

Where was Shaw for number four????
Re: Luke Shaw
It's funny that you are pinning all four goals on Shaw. The entire team have been defensible shambolic
Re: Luke Shaw
Shaw is getting sucked into cover because the centre backs are all over the place.

He was excellent last season but he’s looked very poor whenever I’ve watched him this year.

Maguire is absolutely shocking. Someone at Utd thought he was worth 80 million?!
One thing for sure I’d rather have Tarks, Mee or Collins over Maguire any day.

If there’s a huge gap between yourself and the man next to you, you tuck in, every defender will tell you that
Re: Luke Shaw
This thread highlights how stupid and fickle football fans are, best left back in the league for the last year, a poor 45 minutes and suddenly the armchair experts deem him useless!

Re: Luke Shaw
Shaw has been quite a decent left back... looking at him now, you'd think the best option Utd have is that it's too much effort needed to get round him so the opposition will attack down the other side.

Re: Luke Shaw
Best left back? He’s not even in the top 3 - Robertson, Chilwell, Diane, Tierney, in fact I’d rather have Trippier!
Re: Luke Shaw
Who is Diane? and maybe base your opinion off a season not 45 minutes....Burnley Ace wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 6:52 pmBest left back? He’s not even in the top 3 - Robertson, Chilwell, Diane, Tierney, in fact I’d rather have Trippier!

Forgot Charlie Taylor in your list,, but one game doesn't make shaw a bad fullback.Burnley Ace wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 6:52 pmBest left back? He’s not even in the top 3 - Robertson, Chilwell, Diane, Tierney, in fact I’d rather have Trippier!
Re: Luke Shaw
Nonsense post. Luke Shaw has been one of the most improved players in recent seasons. Jose Mourhinio almost ruined him with his character assassination but credit to the lad and perhaps Ole for getting him playing well again. Don’t judge him on today’s shambolic performance by United. It was coming.
Re: Luke Shaw
The Special One didn't seem that special to me when I read his unprofessional comments about Luke Shaw and Shaw has come through it with honours. To ask where he was for goal number 4 I'd say he was where he's been many times this season, covering for overpaid prima donas I'd take Luke Shaw as long as he agreed to take the captains arm band.

Matic should have played today, a true holding MFer. Fred and MacTominay are decent players but not great in that role. As none of ManUres front 3 get back to help it all fell on them.

Those who are questioning Luke Shaw don’t really know much about football. Instead question the 2 Center halves that Shaw has to cover.

Funny that as over the last few years Rice has often got slated on here and Philips apparently only started to get in the England team cos he plays for Leedsminnieclaret wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 10:37 pmIt’s not that shower, it’s having Rice and Phillips covering everything in front of them.

There's some posters on here who regularly like to put down other clubs players and make out they only get in the England team cos of who they play for.
Theses same posters then post the same nonsense opinions about Southgate being rubbish and just a yes man but when he does well suddenly all these players theyve been making out as being rubbish become some kind of golden generation that Southgate was lucky to have
Their lack of self awareness as their biased agenda forces them to contradict themselves is laughable but its good to highlight it from time to time

Re: Luke Shaw
Good point and has to be said that neither Rice or Philips has performed particularly poorly for the national team and I presume also at St Georges park under real scrutiny from the management team. A few games in Sky or highlights on YouTube don't really sum up the performance over 90 minutes which is what a lot of people base their opinions on.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 10:50 pmFunny that as over the last few years Rice has often got slated on here and Philips apparently only started to get in the England team cos he plays for Leeds

Re: Luke Shaw
Varane is incredibly underrated in England. Not sure it's a coincidence that they've shipped nine goals in the last two PL games without him while they have conceded five in his five PL matches so far.
