F1 tonight
Anyone else watching the GP tonight.
Been a great season and could be a great race tonight.
Carlos Sainz on the sofas is out of sink with the top ten , think it might be a good thing for him by complete accident.

Impossible to look beyond Verstappen and Hamilton unless, as you say, they take each other out in which case Perez. I'll go with Hamilton just...on straighline speed.

Re: F1 tonight
To be fair lots of people say Hamilton wins because of the car, so why is Bottas so far behind?
Re: F1 tonight
Bottas had to take a five place grid penalty. That aside Hamilton is a miles better driver.Lowbankclaret wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 9:22 pmTo be fair lots of people say Hamilton wins because of the car, so why is Bottas so far behind?

Great win Verstappen. Gutted, but fantastic drive by him and exciting race to the last corner. Think that’s the title wrapped up.

Not sure it’s the title wrapped up, but as someone who is not a fan of Hamilton it’s a good day, he is a great driver but is a c0ck.

Can’t say I relate to him much with his crazy dress sense and some of his behaviours, but he’s been a fantastic professional and credit to the country. His words after being beaten today:Lowbankclaret wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 9:54 pmNot sure it’s the title wrapped up, but as someone who is not a fan of Hamilton it’s a good day, he is a great driver but is a c0ck.
"Firstly congratulations to Max, he did a great job today. It was such a tough race. Got a good start and gave it absolutely everything but at the end of the day they had the upper hand this weekend.
"Fair play to my team they gave it everything with the strategy but wow what a crowd. It was a pleasure to perform in front of you today.
As for the title… I think 12 points is a big gap to close. Redbull are just faster. 8 wins for Verstappen to Lewis’ 5, led more laps alone than all the other drivers combined. He deserves it, however desperate I am to see Lewis as 8 time world champion.

I to want to see Hamilton overtake MS 7 World titles, don't think it will be this season...Max deserves to become World Champion this year, but I wouldn't write Lewis off beating MS's 7 World titles next seasonNewClaret wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 10:17 pmCan’t say I relate to him much with his crazy dress sense and some of his behaviours, but he’s been a fantastic professional and credit to the country. It's been a cracking season.

I agree, I can't see it being this season with the races to come and I can't see it also being in future seasons either; I think 7 will be the limit. The edge seems to have gone slightly and age will impinge on his success in seasons to come but still a fantastic career regardless of the "just had the best car" haters.

I'd never write Lewis off mate....he's a winner...regardless of the " just had the best car" haters.addisclaret wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 10:33 pmI agree, I can't see it being this season with the races to come and I can't see it also being in future seasons either; I think 7 will be the limit. Re: F1 tonight
I agree but the gut feeling isn't there this year along with the engine "problems" and team mate not up to scratch a lot of the time. I still think Merc will take the constructors but VER will win the title deservedly, however much I don't want that to happen.

Re: F1 tonight
It will be interesting to see how Verstappen handles the additional pressure the closer he gets to actually being the World Champion. Hamilton knows about that pressure more than any other current driver. Of course, it only takes one DNF by either driver to completely change the picture.

Re: F1 tonight
With the big shake up in regulations for next season , it could really mix up the grid next season. Of course engine power is always a factor and Merc will probably still have the most power. But you never know. I am hoping it gives more teams the chance to be competitive.addisclaret wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 10:33 pmI agree, I can't see it being this season with the races to come and I can't see it also being in future seasons either; I think 7 will be the limit. Re: F1 tonight
Next season could be one of the most interesting for a long time with the new regs coming through but also has the possibility to be one of the dullest should one team find a way to get a leap ahead as Merc did in 2014. Personally I am hoping for a tightening in the gaps between the top two and the rest so we get the chance of more wins and podiums for what are now classed as the midfield teams.Lowbankclaret wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 1:02 pmWith the big shake up in regulations for next season , it could really mix up the grid next season.
