Stokes in Ashes squad
Great news he is now in the squad.
Good chance now of maybe 3 or 4 nil rather than 5

Crazy he was playing international cricket without being able to grip the bat.
Done exactly the right thing getting himself right while having a break. At least we’ll have 2 lads that might score runs now

Re: Stokes in Ashes squad
Great news all round.
Firstly his mental health is right and finger injury.
A boost for England cricket and one player that likes the ball coming on to him, so fast bouncy wickets suit him perfectly.
It gives us a slight chance now. It's the conditions and heat that usually beat us down under this Aussie team are no great shakes.
We were fortunate to have an opening batter in Cook who never sweated and could bat for days in 40 degree heat. No such luxury now.

This is great news. Really pleased that he seems to be in better health and I hope it stays that way. That’s the most important thing.

Re: Stokes in Ashes squad
Big boost for England that Stokes will now tour Oz, he's one of the few England players who won't be intimidated by their quicks.
And even if he only plays as a batsman in the main he'll greatly strengthen the middle order, he along with Root are the 2 genuine world class players England possess right now, and if they can both score heavily at least that should give England a bit of hope of being competitive if nothing else.
Great to hear he's now in a much happier place both mentally and physically, and he should be applauded for putting his health first before sport.

Re: Stokes in Ashes squad
Great news as this now certainly aids selection headaches as he is genuinely good enought to feature as a batsman, or a bowler.
My guess would be the 4 seamers in the first test would be Broad, Anderson, Stokes and Robinson
