Burnley v Brentford tinned food count
We need a change of luck,I know Redbeard is the "King of the tinned food count" and a I certainly don't want to take his place, but if the tinned food counting posters on here are having withdrawal symptoms and our club need a change of luck...I will do one for this game if we have posters who will except someone other than Redbeard to run it
Should I do one? Thoughts please.

Re: Burnley v Brentford tinned food count
No worries guys I'll give it a go
Can someone tell me when I should start it looking back at old TFC it looks like they started on a Friday before a Saturday game, giving a short period to get your estimates in is that right?
Would like to keep it true to the old format, or if someone has the rules for it or know of a thread with the rules on can you point me in the right directionI hope we can get other volunteers to run it as we go along
I think it's worth a try and if the TFC gives us 3 points on Saturday against Brentford even once will be worth it.

Ypu will be fine Steve (as long as you don't eat the contents before counting ... like you did with the Olives ya greedy bugger )Steve1956 wrote: βMon Oct 25, 2021 4:04 pmNo worries guys I'll give it a go

I knew I could rely on you for help, and I knew you would remember the olive affair, the wife just said do they really take this seriously and I mentioned I was accused of eating an olive on one particular count I did ...she shook her head and buggered off into the kitchen.

Re: Burnley v Brentford tinned food count
Hi Steve,
generally all entries should be received by 2 hours before kick-off and there should be at least 24 hours for participants
...so details should be posted by 13:00pm Friday 29th October - I think!
Unless you want to do a practice using the Spurs game - then entries would be from 17:45 Tues 26th - 17:45 Wed 27th
good luck...and I hope Redbeard participates - he didn't get many opportunities previously as he was officiating so often.
Welcome back Tinned Food Count!

I'm confusing it with 'Guess the Gate'!

"Guess the gate" has become "Guess whether the clubs going to release the attendance or not"

Re: Burnley v Brentford tinned food count
Seems like there is some interest in resurrecting this old Claretsmad tradition I won't try to emulate Red or anything like that I hope all the old counters will give it a go,things will be a tad less strict than Redbeards rules,
I'll post the thread a few days before a game
5 points for correct Beanage
3 points for correct Juiceage
If posters forecast the same I'll just award full points to each poster...no half points
Any suggestions on how to run it will be greatly welcomed and we can make it up as we all go along
Let's hope TFC gets our season back on track, looking back at old threads of the TFC it was mentioned on one thread there was only about ten posters estimating when it first started but it built and built let's see what happens eh?
And maybe we can have some fun along the way and some better results.

Re: Burnley v Brentford tinned food count
I did it a few times Steve, almost thought about doing it at the weekend too.
Don't be worried about your first time, the captain will help along with the officiating.
Just start it 25 hours before the kickoff and end it an hour before. Take a few pics and do some counting, you'll be reet!

Re: Burnley v Brentford tinned food count
I've done it a few times last season TE I did a FAO of Redbeard asking him about doing it for the coming season, there was no appetite for it from anyone so Redbeard unfortunately kicked it into touch,I asked him again last week to try again he was adamant he was finished with it and wouldn't change his mindtarkys_ears wrote: βMon Oct 25, 2021 11:31 pmI did it a few times Steve, almost thought about doing it at the weekend too.

Re: Burnley v Brentford tinned food count
For the hundredth time, Steve, they are NOT my rules, but those of the WTFCA and BTFCA.
They allow for 24 hours' Estimating - no more - as Tarky's and Claretblue have reminded you.
Any deviation from this risks alienation of the Ethereal Powers and therefore complete disaster.
I suspect however that your idea of awarding full points rather than sharing them out for multiple winners will be acceptable to the CA. I can contact our local rep Carrots123 today and forward his response later on if you like.

The Admiral, you mean? - Well, we'll see.
Regarding earlier posts on this thread, btw, it's ship, not 'boat', if you don't mind.
Re: Burnley v Brentford tinned food count
Well get volunteering then Charlie and come up with summit new am sure there must be something in the New Mexico branch of Kwik-e-mart to do a count and measureCharlieinNewMexico wrote: βTue Oct 26, 2021 8:35 amPlease letβs not do beans or garbanzos or whatever it was 32 times in a row last year.
