Interesting situation with the keeper

Sometimes forget that having multiple substitutes, including a keeper (or even 2) wasn't allowed back then

I think it was a couple of years later that a goalkeeper sub was allowed. It is a strange situation looking back. Dickins by the way was one of Mullen’s targets in the following summer.

Something interesting: A pre-pineapple Jason Lee appears in Lincoln's starting lineup on the back page of the programme

Is that the same Jason Lee who became famous for his hairstyle some years later?

It was yes. Had a very varied career.

Ended up at Forest via playing for Southend.

He was a decent player. It was very cruel what Skinner and Baddeil put him through but why he didn't just shave it off I'll never know.

Think he ended up at Watford under Graham Taylor.

He also scored the goal that beat us in the opening game of the Waddle season at Watford.

The 90s was a decade of taking the pee out of people with no boundaries or exceptions. Ruthless at times but very funny and created many characters.

Thick skin was a must.
