Where’s the best place to park near Villa Park?

The usual away pub close to the ground, The Cap and Gown (formerly the Witton Arms) is closed. So there are now no away friendly pubs near the ground.

My wife and I have sadly decided not to travel up to the game from Kent (despite having tickets). We're not particularly Covid anxious, but numbers are rising so sharply that we're not prepared to risk having Christmas ruined for the sake of a football match.

I'm quite shocked at just how many Burnley fans have been trying to sell their tickets on twitter etc..

I suppose nobody wants to have to isolate on Xmas day.

I wonder if we will get away with not buying presents this year as we can't risk going the shops?

Is the game going to go ahead? Seems most others are postponed.

No one on here can possibly know so it's a case of going with the latest news. We are getting the train this morning so will be crossing my fingers. I'll be gutted if it gets postponed once I've used my train tickets and can't get a refund.

An very understandable view and if more people do the same at least it will create more room for social distancing for us who do attend.

Does anyone know how many tickets we have sold.

I personally think a sweepstake on what time the game gets called off is a good idea.

If i had a ticket I wouldn't be going. I don't have a ticket so I am definitely not going.....

Yes I may well regret going in a few hours!

93000 cases yesterday, the chance of contracting covid is massive and significantly more sat/walking amongst thousands of people, so I totally understand people deciding against going the match, especially this close to Christmas. Just be thankfull of the jabs and that Omnicrom is repotedly not as bad as the other variants and I hope everyone will be OK and have a great Christmas.

OK it's 9 am so if it's going to be called off this might be the time.
