Yeah probably will, like I say wanted to like the guy, local boy made good and all that, he just seems to use the club for his own gain/tv career without really having any passion for the club.
I don't know why you think that is important. I'm guessing the exciting news is a sponsorship deal. If so he'll be paying a substantial amount of money for his company name to be prominently displayed.
How much passion do you thing Spread Ex have for BFC? They pay their money, they get their publicity.

He was at Mitton Hall the night of my wedding reception with his wife having something to eat and was as sound as a pound. A really nice bloke to talk to.

For some bizarre reason certain people's envy of anyone who has made a success of their life and made a few quid comes across as bitter and snidey.

I follow him on Twitter and he comes across as a really decent bloke. All the money he has, he has made himself. I read how he started up refurbishing a car from a dealer and selling it on for a profit. He then went back and took another and did the same and grew himself a business out of that. It's also refreshing to see him putting back into the local community with his various projects, community bank etc. And maybe he is now getting involved with our football club, which we have worried that it is now owned by non-locals. Sounds a positive move to me.

I really don't know the guy other than publicity and when he sponsored the CFS. If he wants to pump money in to the club, and all the financial bodies at the club feel its a good deal, then I don't see the issue. You could argue there are many more businessmen/women with businesses in Burnley who could have but did not, so good to see for me.

That shouldn't really surprise you should it ? There are quite a few on here who resent anyone who has done well for themselves. Living a life full of envy is such a waste.

Burnley has more than its fair share of Tall Poppy Syndrome. Also, file under 'being a bit different or alternative'. You'll fit in well if you always criticise ambition while praising Adele's new album to your 1000+ imaginary friends on Facebook.

You'll never be criticised by someone doing more than you, it'll always be by someone doing less.
It's a tell tale sign you're doing well in an area of your life if there's people wanting to bring you down or for you to fail.

Celebrity fans like Alistair Campbell and Tony Livesey have a genuine knowledge and affection for the club, I don’t see that from Dave Fishwick.
Do Alistair Campbell and Tony Livesey put money into the club? Dave Fishwick definitely does. That'll do for me.

I don’t really get the hate, he always comes across really well to me. Does a lot for the town both financially and otherwise and, while a bit eccentric, clearly means well. And while he does talk about his helicopter etc a lot I don’t think he’s doing it in a ‘look what I can afford and you can’t’ way - he probably just really likes it! Also didn’t he offer to use it to help during the pandemic?
Anyway, decent bloke who’s put a lot of money into the club.

Fair credit to him. You don’t get to where he is by twiddling your thumbs. He’s obviously worked very hard to build his business (s). I imagine he’s put a fair bit of money into our club over the years and by the sound of it may be putting more in. I’m like a lot of people I’m not rich and have to watch what I spend but I certainly don’t begrudge people like Dave who’ve worked very hard and done well. Good luck to him.

I think people are jumping the gun expecting sponsorship deals.
He has been signed up for a new TV series I believe, he might have got Alan Pace to appear in an episode? He certainly likes showing off Burnley to the world.

Not a massive amount of money to the club that some had hoped.

Yes. Very simple.
Mr Collins will now arrive and leave training and home matches in a minibus, carrying sponsors logo.
His underpants will also carry his sponsor logo.
His salary will be paid into Dave's bank of a kind and they will look after it, for him.
Any night out by Mr Collins and his fellows on the night, will be facilitated by minibus transport.

I think it’s a case of being seen to kiss and make-up after the end of the stand Sponsorship, “We’re all mucking together” type announcement.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think player sponsorships will be done through the chairman
And didn’t the original post of him with Pace say “announced after Christmas”?

Did we not have a Golden Gate to sign David Reeves who was on loan from Bolton ?
Blokes with buckets at the gates.
The £65,000 price tag seems to ring a bell but I could be miles off. I heard that the buckets raised around £65 quid.

It was David Reeves but from Sheffield Wednesday. We were given the option of paying double or, if a season ticket holder, paying again. Then Sheff Wed said he wasn't for sale. He'd scored 8 goals for us in 16 league games.

Dave has just been on BBC Breakfast. He was brilliant and gave a few mentions for Burnley. I dont think Naga was sure how to take him really.
He has just gone "Brewsters" ? He says thats a Burnley saying ?
Good luck to him and the film about his life. The actor who will play him has gone from "Bond to Burnley".
Great to see some positive news regarding Burnley.

He needs to get a jacket that fits him, his button was ready to ping off. No airs and graces with Dave, a very down to earth Burnley lad.Good to see Burnley get some exposure.

Took over stand sponsorship of the Longside now that James Hargreaves made it vacant?
