Not too bad a day results wise for us but a good point for Leeds although Brighton only have 6 points from their last 8 games ( 6 draws ) Could do with at least a point tomorrow but that will be tough with our 2 suspensions

Big game tomorrow following those results, if we can pull a victory out of the fire, then we'll be level on points with Leeds, however we would be ahead of them on GD, and crucially out of the bottom 3, with 2 winnable games in Wolves & Newcastle on the horizon.

Shame Brighton got off to a flyer, as they don't look any great shakes in recent weeks, 8 without a win now, I knew their form had dipped, but I hadn't realised it was so bad.

JBG is just getting back to his best IMO.
He can really put a good cross in given the chance.
You mean when he cuts back to get the ball on his left foot and then floats one in thats usually food and drink to two centre halves?

Sure I read he has the best crossing accuracy in our team.

Graham Potter quote after the match when interviewed:

"They're entitled to their opinion but I disagree with them completely." Graham Potter responds back to the Brighton fans that were booing at the Amex at full time.

Sounds like he could be starting to feel the pressure and hopefully it won't end well for the team.

Was just going to post what you did, Spijed. I agree with him.

Fans booing when their precious club is still 8th in the PL. Who the hell do they think they are?

"We are sitting eighth in the Premier League but maybe I need a history lesson on this football club."

Benfica playing a league game against Belenenses, Belenenses could only name 9 players to start (2 of those were youth goalkeepers), currently 7-0 behind at half time, 9 v 11. Bookies just paid me out 9/1 on over 6.5

Hosting Portuguese giants Benfica was always going to be a tall order for Belenenses on Saturday, but the Primeira Division club's challenge became much more daunting as they kicked off with just nine men on the field.

A spate of coronavirus cases decimated the Belenenses squad in the build-up to the match.

They were severely weakened for Saturday's clash, even picking a reserve goalkeeper to fill in as an outfielder.

The club's woes began in the week, when one of their players who had shown symptoms related to Covid-19 tested positive for the virus.

Further tests threw up a total of 17 cases, 13 among the players and four more in the team's coaching staff.

The game nevertheless went ahead, despite the outrage of several Belenenses players who released a joint statement on social media.

O futebol só tem cor se tiver competição.O futebol só tem cor se tiver verdade desportiva. O futebol só tem cor quando é um exemplo de saúde pública.Hoje, o futebol perdeu a cor. pic.twitter.com/ujjv5H5Ffp

"Football only has heart if it is competitive. Football only has heart if it is really sporting," the message read.

"Football only has heart when it is an example of public health. Today, football lost its heart."

Unsurprisingly, with a two-man advantage and with Under-23 keeper Joao Monteiro playing as an outfielder, Benfica made short work of their rivals.

Eduardo Kau gifted the visitors the lead within the first minute by putting past his own keeper, while Haris Seferovic doubled the advantage 13 minutes in.

By half-time, Benfica had already run up a 7-0 advantage.

Manchester City star Bernardo Silva was watching and, like many other observers, could not believe the game went ahead.

"What is this? Am I the only one who doesn't get why the game wasn't postponed?" the midfielder pondered on Twitter.

O que é isto? Sou o único a não perceber o porquê do jogo não ter sido adiado? 🤦🏻‍♂️

Before the game, though, Belenenses president Rui Pedro Soares insisted that his team had not requested a suspension and were in a proper condition to play.

"We have 38 players registered and we trust them all," he said. "Therefore the decision is up to health authorities.

"We will wait and we are going to respect their decision."

Let's hope that Sean can emulate his son Max as far as getting a result is concerned. He started his second league game for Northampton today alongside ex-Claret, Ali Koiki, and he provided the assist for their only goal in a 1-0 win against Leyton Orient and they are no in second place in League Two.
A similar result would be good as far as I am concerned.

Being realistic, with our suspensions that’s unlikely! Shame as Brighton should’ve won yesterday and that would’ve taken the pressure off.

Why is a win required when a draw would be fine ?
