We are after James Hill from Fleetwood according to Nixon, England U20 international, £2M.

Re: James Hill
I know nothing about the lad, but 43 games in League One at 19 and playing regularly for his age levels England team is impressive. He is certainly the profile of player (like Collins) I absolutely endorse the club bringing in.

Re: James Hill
Contract expires in June. You’d imagine we could get him for less than £2m?
Re: James Hill
If he stayed until the summer you'd imagine they would get less than £2m so perhaps a fee of £2m in January including add-ons would be hard for Fleetwood to turn down

Re: James Hill
19 years old, nearly 50 games at League One level and England youth international, you'd expect a decent tribunal fee if it is left until the summer, plus possibly a bidding war amongst clubs.
If the lad has potential and we're interested, get it done and sealed in January.

Re: James Hill
Some cracking defending there and if he's that good offer £4/5 million to clinch the deal.NewClaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 28, 2021 10:47 amYouTube video:

Fair point. Had forgotten about the tribunal fee.claretburns wrote: ↑Sun Nov 28, 2021 10:48 am19 years old, nearly 50 games at League One level and England youth international, you'd expect a decent tribunal fee if it is left until the summer, plus possibly a bidding war amongst clubs.

Agree with jedi_master that he’s the type of player we should be looking to bring in, although do feel we need a young LCB too.

I like the look of him.
Re: James Hill
The type we should be targeting. I was hoping he was a central midfielder though ….

Re: James Hill
What’s most impressive is getting called up to the England Under 20 squad with Fleetwood- 99% of the time the age group managers don’t look beyond the Premier League youth setups.

£2million won't be enough for a player in the England set upWinstonswhite wrote: ↑Sun Nov 28, 2021 11:13 amWhat’s most impressive is getting called up to the England Under 20 squad with Fleetwood- 99% of the time the age group managers don’t look beyond the Premier League youth setups.

I’ve still never forgiven his Dad for that handball on the line for Preston in 2007.

A lot of high profile clubs been to Highbury to look at him. Some very high profile clubs abroad too.
Re: James Hill
Surely he’d be better at Fulham with a name like Jimmy Hill!

Re: James Hill
Last time we tried to sign a highly rated player from Fleetwood and we didn't match the asking price we missed out.
This time we need to be on the front foot and get the deal done to sign early in the window
,especially if we are going to loose Tarks.
