Benfica match against Belenenses abandoned just after half time with the score 7-0.
Belenenses have had a covid outbreak, and could only field 9 players, including 2 goalkeepers. Only 7 reappeared for the second half, and when the keeper was 'forced' off just after the break, the ref couldn't continue with Belenenses down to 6 players, below the minimum allowed.
Anyone know why they would even contemplate starting the match in the first place. Madness.

Re: Benfica farce
I don't know exactly but can imagine the only reason they started the game was because of some possible action again them from the Portuguese FA, point deduction maybe for not fulfilling a fixture.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 28, 2021 11:40 amBenfica match against Belenenses abandoned just after half time with the score 7-0.

Re: Benfica farce
Warnock famously tried to get the game abandoned by getting sendings off, to not start the game was an automatic 3-0 loss. Probably some similar maths applies.
