Wolves look the better team but the longer we can keep them out the more I can see us pinching a win in the last 15

Wood, Dwight and JBG seriously need to up their games in the second half. Look very lethargic

Weirdly I actually think JBG has been one of our best players. He’s at least making stuff happen.
Wood is like a brick wall the ball just bounces off him. Cornet has really struggled tonight as well.
It’s almost like 4/5 of them look rusty

Aye he's only scored 50 PL goals for us. Get rid, total crap. Get the prolific Vydra on, Dychey!

Re: Wolves V Burnley match thread
Cornet’s getting bullied at the moment. Not a bad half though and Pope hasn’t had much to do. Could snatch one second half. COYC!!
Re: Wolves V Burnley match thread
I’m always wary of writing Wood off at half time because often he’ll play like crap and then put us a goal up- Old Trafford in January 2020 springs to mind. He needs to buck his ideas up, though, and I hope Dwight and Maxwell can pull him for a quick chat in the dressing room before the second half.
Other than that, decent first half I thought. We can win this.

Let’s look at the positives, Taylor and Collins playing well and we aren’t losing.
Come on Burnley

The Wood comments on here are either a wind up or plain ignorance. He's a top striker . Good game so far, possibly not, but the comments on this thread are laughable

Spot on about still being in the game
The problem is how do we improve because they, almost certainly, will
The front two just look lost and as if they have never played together

Wolves look very strong at the back , going to need something very special to open them up

What a clown, that's a red all day, it isn't because Lawton didn't roll around the pitch holding his faceNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 8:01 pmI suggest you rewatch it. Would have been incredibly harsh to give a red for that

Wood playing rubbish. Problem is nobody on the bench is better. Collins excellent again.

Re: Wolves V Burnley match thread
Not sure why Wood is attracting the critics. He was far better than Cornet in the opening 45 mins.

He did roll around holding his face and there was minimal to no contact.

Lowton was the more fortunate one. Clear elbow to the head and then grabbed at the Wolves player as they landed. Yellow for both was about right.

Re: Wolves V Burnley match thread
A bit worried about how easy it was for them to bypass our midfield in the first 30 mins , but in the last 15 we played a lot better. If McNeil and Taylor can keep getting a few crosses in , there's something in this for us .

Re: Wolves V Burnley match thread
We need to get him (and wood) much more involved. They’ve only had balls into feet with their backs to goal so far. Get cornet in behind on the counter and he’s a different animal.

Fortunate to get to half time 0-0, hopefully we can nick a late winner and all 3 points, desperately need a win.

Re: Wolves V Burnley match thread
Cornet is getting out muscled and probably needs to be playing more forward.
Re: Wolves V Burnley match thread
Both Wood and Cornet have been poor. Retaining the ball really poorly. Surely it’s worth trying Dwight in the 10 and cornet left. I feel Cornet’s pace and movement would be better served in behind their right wing back where the space is.

12th minute round of applause for Ava White at Goodison started with respect from both sets of fans and is then ruined by the Red half singing YNWA. S.CUM

2 poor teams so far. 0-0 about right. Let’s see which manager gets the ht talk right
Re: Wolves V Burnley match thread
Taylor and Collins doing well so far. Cornet in the wrong position as he’s a winger and Wood has been poor.

I would love to know how many of Brownhills passes are to Pope as a percentage. It’s got to be close to 50%
