Cornet
Needs to spend some time on the training field doing situation drills with colleagues. A couple of instances tonight, in positive positions, where neither he nor his teammate knew what run to make. Easily solved with Barnfield work.

Am sure they do drills on training ground or are you suggesting Sean doesn’t know what he is doing

He simply isn’t a striker. When he was switched to
The wing within minutes he played a sublime ball to put JbG through on goal. Unfortunately for us, it was JbG on the end of it......

Re: Cornet
Off game tonight but he's got that bit of extra quality.
Re: Cornet
Wood was super p****d when he was subbed. Looked like Sean told him to sit down and shut up.
Re: Cornet
Wow one badish performance and u suggest that!!!
The ball for JBG was world class

Re: Cornet
Need him out wide running at players with play ahead of him rather than playing with his back to goal up front. Understand why he’s been played up top so far to help get up to speed with Prem transition / pace but he’s going to be more effective on the wing. Either play McNeil as a 10 and Cornet left or play Vydra with Wood. Strangely the best football we’ve played this season was the first half to Leicester away when that team started.

Re: Cornet
Very poor tonight but learning so he’ll keep getting better. World class goals dry up after a while, even for Salah, its all about what you do in 90 minutes.
Re: Cornet
Yes Cornet only has 5 goals in 8 games. Pathetic

Re: Cornet
Not criticising. He’s only been in the building 2 months and these things need working on. When players know each other they can pass blind and find each other. Tonight they looked like strangers. It’ll come.

To be fair my major concern is JBG a couple of bad decisions again today.

Re: Cornet
Personally think the ground must have been heavy, the amount of bad passes played by all was unbelievable. Also playing against a 3 man defence which shepherded him well, he was constantly receiving the ball with his back to goal and with our midfield not being the most rapid in moving up the pitch he would end up surrounded within seconds

Re: Cornet
He didn’t have the best game tonight, Wolves defence had him covered. So up should step a mostly unmarked JBG to fill the gaps. Unfortunately they didn’t bother to mark him much for good reason.

Re: Cornet
Think the entire midfield and front two weren't at it tonight
But we've got to bear in mind that we are away from home at a team packed full of quality players, and we did pretty well considering

Re: Cornet
From Midfield and upwards we were sh1t tonight. Absolutely pathetic in possession.
We put more crosses in the box when Wood went off. Absolutely hopeless

Re: Cornet
Tbf, I got the impression that SD had come with the mindset of old, making us harder to beat rather than the recent displays of scoring a few, letting in a few.
And I'd prefer us to be like that for the time being, rather than teams like Bournemouth.

Re: Cornet
Thought he panicked too much, but that was the general twist with our entire team today so you can't really blame him more than others.
Some more composure needed all-round, not a terrible performance by all means, just poor.
Put him with some players who know how to play football better and he'll get some consistency, it doesn't help when you're playing alongside someone who's a yard or two off the pace all the time.

Re: Cornet
The most technically gifted player we have ever had is not the problem, getting the best out of him is the problem.
Re: Cornet
As soon as he moved wide he looked better. This is because he is a winger filling in up front. Just because he can score a goal does not make him a striker. Think some of the criticism is just odd. A great talent and glad we have him. Hope Dyche starts him
back on the wing.

Yes, i think he's a left wing back. but he certainly has the technique to score goals.Boss Hogg wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 10:53 pmAs soon as he moved wide he looked better. we are spoiled for choice on the left, need a better right side now.

My thoughts exactly Spijed. We look harder to beat, and defensively more resolute, at the moment, stick to what you know that gets us out of trouble.

Not at the races tonight. Lets move on to the next game
Re: Cornet
I'd like to see how he goes on the right wing with Vydra and Wood up top. Or even keep swapping wings with McNeil.

Re: Cornet
Yep agree with this. Vydra stretches defences with his movement and Cornet still will get in attacking positions from wide (see JBG when he was clean through in the second half yesterday but somehow ended up taking it round the keeper to the byline and the floating a cross). I can see why Dyche has played him up top so far but hopefully now he’s more up to speed with the pace and transition to fill in that wide role.

Re: Cornet
Why do we insist on getting Maxwel to track back leaving nobody up.
Wolves for all the commentator hype were beatable and going super defensive Howe style lost two points. And as to the stupid decision to hook Max then replace him with Aaron, Connor Roberts must wonder when he's going to get a game.

We've been spoilt in more ways than that when people are saying that we were "absolute sh*te" after an away point at Wolves who are on a great run and in the top 6 of the Premier League. It's like some of these people expect us to dominate these games and play people off the park. Never going to happen.

Re: Cornet
Didn’t think he was that bad tbh, it’s the dross like JBG and a hopeless midfield not to mention a horribly out of form awkward looking Wood that don’t give him much to feed on . Prefer to see him alongside Jay
Re: Cornet
I agree but the only problem with that, is SD either breaks wingers or coaches the flair out of them!As soon as he moved wide he looked better. This is because he is a winger filling in up front. Re: Cornet
Looks much more effective and dangerous playing on the left side of the front two. No idea why Dyche played him on the right side last night. Play him on the left of Wood on Saturday.

Re: Cornet
I think you're forgetting about Defour and a few others as well with that statement. Cornet is very good and will get better, but he's not up to that standard yet. And before you think I'm criticising Cornet, let me tell you that I have the new away shirt with his name on it. I think he's made a huge difference already.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 10:50 pmThe most technically gifted player we have ever had is not the problem, getting the best out of him is the problem.
Re: Cornet
His technique is without question is as good as any recent Burnley players. His last goal was a rare gem.. He is a left side player not being played there because we are well covered with Taylor and McNeil.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 10:25 amI think you're forgetting about Defour and a few others as well with that statement. Re: Cornet
Wolves had the measure of us. They are not 4th in the Premier League (Formerly the Barclays Premier League) for nothing. They deprived Wood and Cornet of any proper service. Westwood would have helped with that one. JBG had an off-day for him and Cork is better at defending than attacking. Wood was right to be p!ssed off at being subbed. He appeared to say "It's not my fault" And he'd be right.
Maxwel, if you're watching, ignore any negativity. You are one of the best players that we have and without service, how are you supposed to score? Merry Christmas by the way
