I’m surprised by those Cork 5’s. I thought he was good tonight.

Re: Wolves v Burnley - Player Ratings
Pope 8 Solid
Lowton 8 Solid
Collins 9 Looks like a superstar developing...
Mee 8 Solid
Taylor 8 Solid, very good player.
Gudmundsson 6 Decent moments in the 1st half, faded badly
Cork 7 Some very good moments.
Brownhill 7 Must be an absolute nightmare to play against, proper Burnley player.
McNeil 7 tried hard
Wood 5 Really tough night up front on his own.
Cornet 3 Looks so utterly lost in the Premier League. No moment of genius tongight, so a 3 is fair. Gives the ball away more often than not.
Rodriguez 6 meh
Lennon 3 I would rather they held a raffle each week and a fan got to come on after 85 minutes and play on the right wing, at least it would be potentially exciting. Utterly pointless player.

Re: Wolves v Burnley - Player Ratings
Tough one to mark in that the effort, work rate and defensively we were very good. However we had to be as the countless times we won it back we simply surrendered possession with ease. In fact on the ball that was nothing short of horrendous

A limp attacking display missing Westwood but when chances were there they weren't taken (Wood header, Vydra, Jay, McNeil).
So against this defence a point away is great, keeps ticking over and these subtleties like single points can lead to three on Saturday due to confidence.
What cost us early in the season was sloppy defence, that is much improved, so I think I can say Burnley are back. Now for the regular three points.
p.s. the ref was a nervy novice, did OK but clearly favoured the home side, luckily he had no major decisions, makes the hard won point even better.
p.p.s. Didn’t miss Tarky at all, sad when he departs for a bench somewhere but Collins is too good to be benched for more than a season. Given Tarky is worth nowt in May though we’d prefer him, asset wise, to resign, so there’s no point sending a message and keeping Collins in…..yet.

Re: Wolves v Burnley - Player Ratings
Taylor great, defensively sound, but we appeared to be not that on it at all from an attacking point of view, but I thought SD used his bench well
Cork was good as well I thought, but its a good point considering we were not really at our best up front or in midfield

We didn’t play badly and held Wolves at bay at the edge of our penalty area. However, we missed Westwood with his balls into the box. Wood and Cornet were very isolated against a very good back three.

Re: Wolves v Burnley - Player Ratings
Based on watching Amazon Prime…
Pope 8- did what he had to do with no problems. Very good to see him coming so decisively for balls near the edge of the area.
Lowton 7- solid!
Collins 9- I genuinely thought he was excellent tonight! Stepped in seamlessly and looks hard to drop. If we can bring somebody else in in January then I’d have no problems with us selling Tarkowski then.
Mee 7- a captain’s performance; led us well and took a yellow card for the team.
Taylor 9- Man of the Match. ‘Nuff said…
JBG 6- solid, if unspectacular, performance.
Brownhill 7- see JBG’s comment; extra mark added as did a bit more in my eyes.
Cork 7- Played like he had a point to prove…and did. Still not sure he’ll keep the spot though as we really missed Westwood.
McNeil 6- nothing special but involved throughout and wasn’t willing to give up. Was interesting to watch him coming into the centre so much and then create space for Taylor to have such a good game.
Wood 5- one of those nights! Good to see him not being happy at being subbed; means he’ll come back next game with a serious point to prove…
Cornet 5- wasn’t his night up front.
Jay 5- just isn’t a serious goal threat for us. A major upgrade needed here in January.

Collins 8 Looks a good player in the making
Mee 7
Taylor 8 mom
JBG 6
Brownhill 5
Cork 6
McNeil 6
Cornet 5 he is playing out of position he’s a winger
Wood 4 poor
Subs:
J Rod 6
Vydra 6
In isolation a hard fought point against a good side. We looked better second half. Ball retention poor and sloppy at times. Cork did better than I expected but CM must be a priority in the window.

Re: Wolves v Burnley - Player Ratings
Pope 7 Did what he had to do
Taylor 9 Probably our best player along with Collins.
Lowton 7 Didn't get up the pitch much but fairly solid
Mee 8 Typical Mee performance and held the defense together
Collins 9 Played really well and got in there when required
Brownhill 7 Ran around as usual
Cork 7 Thought he played quite well tonight
Jbg 6 One or two moments when he looked as if he could produce but final ball in could have been better
McNeil 7 Almost snuck one in and one of the few chances on target.
Cornet 5 Looked a little lost but I suppose he can't score every game
Wood 5 Not that much service and didn't do too much with the few that he had. ****** off when he came off.
We never really created many chances and didn't look like scoring.
We certainly couldn't have complained had we lost.
The defense bailed us out again. But a point against a top six side isn't too bad really.

Wood appeared unhappy at being subbed but I don`t know why, contributed nothing of any consequence as did Cornet hence the reason we looked better when JR and Vydra came on. Cornet isn`t a central front man for me, he seems more effective coming in from the left. IMO Thought Roberts might have got the minutes Lennon did, the more minutes he gets the sooner he will fit in when he needs to start.

Cornet 3.......are you serious? FFS that was a short honeymoon!burnley007 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 10:01 pmPope 8 Solid

Collins 8 - looks superb
Mee 8 - did well after his very early booking

Gudmundsson 6 - works hard, does the first bit well then he suffers from Traoreitus when it comes to end product. So many poor crosses.
