Rodriguez needs a haircut
It’s about time Jay cut those locks off. He spends just so much time poncing about with that bun but tonight was ridiculous. After the nose bleed and change of shirt, he couldn’t seem to get it tied up properly and kept having to adjust it to the point when he finally had to settle for a splayed out pony tail. Get a haircut and concentrate on playing football.

All Burnley footballers should have their head shaved and look as hard as **^*

First thing McGraigh said to Tony Hancock before signing him from Burnley for Preston “ lose the ear-ring and get a haircut, your a footballer not a pop star.”diamondpocket wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 12:01 amYou sound like my old headteacher who nearly expelled me for having long hair! If Jay Rod is distracted by his hair from doing his job, then he needs a haircut.

BTW the real reason sad blokes like those in this thread get emotional about another man having long hair is that seeing a strong, fit, masculine looking lad with long hair challenges their feeble sense of masculine pride and their ordered conception of gender and the expectations that come with it. Makes them feel like pussies to see a long haired bloke out-achieve them, I suppose. Must be utterly shattering. So some fat, round, sweating, bald-headed slob tries knocking the lad down a peg, thus in his own mind reaffirming his own so-called manliness. It's an act of self-care, really. Like bath salts and scented candles, but for really insecure and/or simple people. This thread was never about Jay's performance. Protests, and completely fake concerns about the effect of a long-haired footballer's hair on his performance aren't arrived at after seeing the performance, no; that passionate unease was always deep inside, laying dormant, imprinted on an empty head the first time their lizard brain saw long hair on a man and their subconscious screamed 'aaah! nonononono this is transgressive and I don't like it very much!!!' — an anxiety ready and primed to be vomited up at the earliest possible socially acceptable chance. All speaks to a person's fragility. This thread is a public display of the OP's anxiety.

too much hair, it's slowing him down
Re: Rodriguez needs a haircut
It's like five or six sentences. Saying "all of that" implies effort lol. I suppose in an illiterate backwater like Burnley the cultural wash of postmodern irony is yet to cleanse a great many of the yokels of their daddy's and granddaddy's innocent sincerity, and as such you, like your yokel ancestors, read earnestness where in fact earnestness and irony are muddled. You're like a Victorian prude being offended at the sight of a thigh, embarrassed by a curse word. Difference between you and me is I know I'm talking at idiots.

His nasal and ear hair are in line with the BFC brand so why he is allowed to ponce around like a seventies rock star is beyond me.

Absolutely live and let live, but if he’s messing with his bun he cannot be concentrating on finding positions, tracking back etc. If it is a problem then like any other job it should be commented on. It is not about fashion choice for me, just practicality.Claretforever wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 10:43 amI was actually thinking the same thing last night, it does look horrendous. Tongue in cheek posts really need some kind of early warning on here . People are actually taking the OP seriously ffs I remember posting some nonsense about Barnes’s ropey syrup cum hair transplant and the faux outrage from some was a joy to behold
Re: Rodriguez needs a haircut
Probably best to avoid googling that, especially if you’re at work.

Well he has to be lurking around out there somewhere and the tripe that Spiral is peddling reminded me of him, as with you the other day, BC.
p.s. I managed to relocate that cat, by the way.

Ok Shakespeare, I haven't made any comment on Jay Rodriguez' hairstyle so who's really the idiot here?Spiral wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 2:36 amIt's like five or six sentences. Me. I'm the idiot. I'm here just amusing myself, on a dialectical rampage about *checks notes*...the psychology of middle aged men gossiping with complete strangers about another man's hairstyle. Heat magazine for blokes, this thread.

Re: Rodriguez needs a haircut
Nobody should have any issue with his choice of hairstyle. What is the issue is that it was taking his attention away from what he should have been focusing on. If his boots had kept coming off and he had to keep replacing them, we would have said he needed new boots. The same logic applies to his hair.

You don’t seem very adverse to not wanting to join in this “heat magazine for blokes” so by that reckoning you must be complicit yourself in your own assessment of the thread.

I was thinking that myself, he’ll want (SD) 100% concentration. There are very few times he’s started or come off the bench where he’s not messing with his bun. Okay I’ll come clean, I’m as jealous as hell being a baldy
