MOTD last night
No discussion on either of the possible red card incidents.
Hwang’s elbow was a definite for me. The Jiminez thumb in the eye was more difficult to give but as he had no need to put his hand near Collins face something went on.
Didn’t show Wood miss the header opportunity. For somebody with his tally of headed goals he is actually quite atrocious when he has to put some action onto the ball.

Re: MOTD last night
Just amazed at the calibre of pundits hosting the show. AShley Williams commenting on Burnley's performance "Burnley need to be converting their draws into wins". A 10 year old studying the PL table for 5 minutes could have come out with this

Re: MOTD last night
If your seriously thinking Jiminez catching Collins in the eye with his thumb is anywhere nay a red card then you're gonna be disappointed a lot with programmes like MotD not sharing your massive Burnley bias.
If that was Wood catching Coady in the eye there would be absolute zero discussion on here and anywhere else (apart from your Wolves equivalents on their messageboard) about it being a possible red card incident.
When these highlights shows tend to ignore incidents you think were major decisions that went against us then thats probably a cue to accept that you're just a bit biased

Yeah neither were red cards. In fact we were probably the luckier side when it came to finishing with 11 players on the pitch

..and Ben Mee's desperate tackle on Traore had him limping for 10 minutes, and we would not have liked it on one of OUR attackers
Re: MOTD last night
Thought the ref did very well last night, especially given his was his first game at that level. All the red/yellow card decisions were spot on for me.

Re: MOTD last night
I have it recorded and will see it shortly. I didn’t see the game but I got a text from someone saying Dyche just gave Wood a bollocking, was that for any particular reason or was that not the case? Not sure which half it supposedly happened.

Re: MOTD last night
He subbed him for J Rod an he wasn't happy. Woody didn't have his best night in an attacking sense, along with a few others I might add.
I don't mind seeing passion from a player who's been taken off, he obvioulsy cares and was probably frustrated by the scraps he was served, and his touch and passing was a little off last night.

Re: MOTD last night
Someone on the match thread said Wood was complaining about being subbed, and apparently, the boss told him to "sit down and shut the f**k up"
Didn't catch that myself, though.

Re: MOTD last night
I hoped the Jay Rod switch would prove an unlikely master stroke, it proved not to be but having taken Wood off the management team were in the middle of discussing tactics when Wood wanted to debate his substitution. He was off the field by then and any discussion could wait. Dyche did right telling him to sit down and shut up, his part in the game was over.
Re: MOTD last night
J Rod’s level is playing Rochdale in the league cup. Would any single other premier league team even consider adding him to the squad. No.

Re: MOTD last night
Completely over the top, had you said it looked as though Jay Rod is not showing enough to warrant a Premier League contract at the moment, few could argue. With a decent run, he may yet prove us wrong but his recent performances suggest he no longer has the desire (or legs) he once had; possibly as a result he realises his time here is running out and he has the option of dropping down the leagues, moving abroad or looking to his career beyond football. For now he remains a Burnley player and deserves our support to see if he can prove us wrong.

Re: MOTD last night
Absolutely the right decision to haul him off. He had a bad game, struggled to lay the ball off, won few headers and looked slow and sluggish. I even thought last night he was looking over weight. Jay did actually add some energy up front and had a good late effort on goalelwaclaret wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 3:40 pmI hoped the Jay Rod switch would prove an unlikely master stroke, it proved not to be but having taken Wood off the management team were in the middle of discussing tactics when Wood wanted to debate his substitution. And laying the ball off for Vydra's equaliser at Chelsea...Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 5:00 pmI'm glad he banged in four goals against Rochdale otherwise God only knows what level you might think he is most suited to.
Great vision and intelligent play.
We lacked creativity and presence in midfield last night. Certainly not an issue to be slating our forwards about. No service.

On last nights and many other showings, what is Chris Woods level

Re: MOTD last night
I’m usually first to complain about poor officiating but didn’t see any issues with the decisions last night. All correct calls by the ref imo.
Re: MOTD last night
Seen as though he’s our top PL scorer ever and consistently hits double figures every season in the PL I’d probably suggest his level is the PL, what do you think?

Jiminez couldn't really tell but if it was the other way around then I'm sure he would have rolled around - I've seen Barnes get away with similar antics
Wood's missed header - he was offside so it wasn't much of a miss
