January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
11th Jan, 18th in the table and 8 points behind 16th. If we don't get anyone in to strengthen us then Pace has lost the plot in my opinion. Despite how stinking bad we've been we somehow still have a chance to remain in this league, we're surely going to sign someone aren't we...aren't we......
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Might be seen as a successful window by the Manager just to keep what we have. After all these are his players that he trusts. Might be seen as a successful window by the Chairman just to offload some high earners if we are going to wave the white flag already and sleep walk to relegation. Early days by our usual standards though. Saving a few quid always seems more important than the games in the meantime where there are points at stake.

Sounds like Palace are pushing hard for Aaron Ramsey
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
This discussion thread does not appear to have a link to a happy thread? I am finding it a tough read without medication and when I say tough think Brian O'Neil, Dean Marney and gentle Joey Barton tough. Anyone got any happy rumours..........please

Lyndon Dykes mentioned in relation to Burnley, but also many other clubs.
Queens Park Rangers striker Lyndon Dykes has attracted the interest of a number of Premier League clubs, including Newcastle, Burnley, Crystal Palace and Norwich City. Scottish champions Rangers and English Championship leaders Bournemouth are also said to keen on the 26-year-old Australian-born Scotland international.
Wouldn't be a bad shout, especially if Wood is heading to Newcastle.

ALL IS DROSS!.......
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Lyndon Dykes is not a premier league player and a big step back from Chris Wood. Why can’t Dyche target someone with lightening pace instead of a big lump? At least someone fast will have a chance of catching some of the aimless hoofs.

May I suggest you look at the Transfer Window thread
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Premium players will even be having second thoughts about going to Newcastle given their current positionTheOriginalLongsider wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 1:04 pmI don’t understand Newcastle. They have the money to buy premium players. Better than Wood, Mee or Tarkowski !
So what chance have we got in getting even any half decent players in
The likes of Swift, Wallace or Dykes are not going to save us from relegation and if that happens there will no doubt be better deals to do in the summer - these would be real panic buys
Loans seem to be the best option to me
Players may be happy to come for some game time to put themselves in the shop window, whilst not committing to a side that is one of the favourites to go down
Not ideal but beggars can't be choosers

Lyndon Dykes is shite like Kiefer Moore, wouldn't be surprised to see those 2 carthorse heffers upfront next year

Ok. I did a search for Wood etc but something obviously didn't work.
I'll skulk off and punish myself.

It amazes me how coincidently they target 3 Burnley players who are in a relegation battle with them, for me its just a clever ploy to unsettle our dressing room, when we are at our weakest, and looks like its working too, if past matches are to go by. You could imaging the conversations now "Tarky can you drop my name in to Eddie for a 100% payrise, I want to come too"

It was suggested that Wood's agent had offered him to Newcastle. I suspect every agent on the planet has been offering their players to Newcastle recently. Leaking this particular approach is to their advantage.warksclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 5:04 pmAll agent & media talk. When did a relegation club last sell to another relegation club

Re: Mags want Wood
The way I read it is that’s there’s a clause in woods contract if Newcastle offered a certain amount & wood wanted to go we wouldn’t be able to stop that, so it’d be out of our hands whether we wanted him to go or not.warksclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 5:04 pmAll agent & media talk. I could understand Matt Richie, at a push but I really don’t get the obsession with Dwight Gayle; we looked at him years ago… he has done little since.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 5:26 pmDwight Gale+ Matt Richie+ £20m and its worth pursuing
If Wood wants to go, he goes; that it is even being suggested should redouble our attempts to bring in new faces… not chase players we wanted five years+ ago.

Take a look at the BBC Transfer page and the player has joined Cheltenham.
Duff straight in there before Dyche

Swift, Wallace and dykes, something like 17 goals, 19 assists between them, just got a feeling they might have a better chance of saving us than Cork, gudmundson, and wood at the moment. Just my opinion of course.jojomk1 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 4:47 pmPremium players will even be having second thoughts about going to Newcastle given their current position

Dwight Gayle has been a substitute in 19 of Newcastle's PL games and played just 27 minutes.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 5:40 pmI could understand Matt Richie, at a push but I really don’t get the obsession with Dwight Gayle; we looked at him years ago… he has done little since.

We possibly are, but if we are, you will have to wait. No agent anywhere on the planet will advise his player to join us so early in the window. Want to see what develops elsewhere as we are low payers and as a result their cut will be less. We will be most players last choice and last option, unless they are maybe coming from a much, much lower league.

Philippe Coutinho arrived in Birmingham today on a private jet with only 4 passengers including himself. Whats wrong with easyjet?

Taylor Booth, no idea who he is, but seems he is a midfielder. 20 Years old, surely not one for our first team?

Hassane Kamara LB
Samir CB
Edo Kayembe CM
Two positions we could do with strengthening CB CM

And even if release clause is that, its a minimum starting point. Doesn't make sense either way, as we signed for double that almost
