Hook line and sinker
Yup!
Maybe I'll stick to talking about formations and players that I think we should sign and play, because I know thats what you all want to know about right?

It's a yes please from me.
Reminds me of a much younger Chris Wood before his legs went and he still knew how to find the back of the net.

Another Nat Phillips link - from the Liverpool Echo (echo).
'The ECHO understands that Liverpool have so far rejected two approaches for Phillips, one of which is from Watford, with interest expected to escalate in the coming days.'

Absolutely love the fact that not content with adding an ‘s’ to a name where there shouldn’t be one……we’ve now taken to removing them from names where there should be one! Brilliant!

I don’t know if they make time to watch some of the players they recommend, but researching potential signings and posting them in a place where nobody reading them has any involvement with BFC’s recruitment seems to be the definition of futility.
Given that it’s a Burnley FC fans forum/message board I’m not sure what you expect to find on here….personally I don’t open threads that I’ve got no interest in or have already deemed to be nil and void. Just avoid it if needs be

Could anything sum up our current state of affairs better than being linked with 33 year old Chris Basham on a free?
Wasn't Andy Carroll 33 earlier this month

Maybe we got lucky that he fancied being on easy street considering he has 1 goal in 20 games in a very weak league
indeed, hence why i referred to him as bang average !

See, I don’t mind a bit of that stuff, hear of players you’ve maybe never heard of, can either choose to research them yourself or not, and if they turn out to be more Nimani than Tarkowski then fair enough

Me neither - not heard of ninety plus percent of them, I’m not ashamed to admit.
What would be interesting is to have a sticky that tracks the progress of these recommended players over the following years. Have we avoided a bullet and saved our cash, or have missed out on a great player and a big sell on?

Exciting for a moment, until reality hit home.
Andy Carroll would be
"England legend set to sign for Clarets" you'd buy the paper and die of disappointment.
In fact I am sure that was the billboard headline when we signed Nick Pickering.

If he is available for that then we should push for him. Doesn't have to move home, stay local and would still be in a relegation battle. Unless he felt he could earn a move a mega money move to Newcastle IF they stayed up.

According to some sources(?), our lot may be feeling the same but we are largely working in the shadows.
If Newcastle go down as well as the Wood signing, so far… it may get funnier yet up at St. James’s. I know they’re richer than God, but He retains ultimate power to send the Saudi’s down for a taste of the Championship for all their investment. Howe can spot the odd one, but he struggles to build fighting teams.

If there is a God, they’ll go down!! Not sure what the big man thinks of Watford though, so it could be a bumpy ride!!

That’s a great move for both parties. On the edge of the play offs and he could be for them what Ian Wright was for us.

That's more his level now, think Ian Wright when he came to us late in his career. And Oxford are right in the PO picture, so his experience could be invaluable for them in the closing months of the season.

Eden Hazard available, but only if Real can recoup some of what they paid for him, and the same someone is willing to match the 250,000 a week wages.
Even for a once great player, on the downslope of his career, that is ridiculous. Is it any wonder Real keep finding themselves up to their nostrils in debt. They just never seem to learn rhe lesson.

I read online this week Real Madrid excepted a £44.5 million bid for Hazard off Newcastle but Hazard himself refused the move
