Don’t know what you mean by wait. I believe he’s flying in today which will possibly mean tomorrow for medical at a guess. We will probably announce it on Monday.

As we’ve seen today, virtually done deals can collapse at the eleventh hour but I’ve heard nothing to suggest anything is going wrong with this one.

I obviously just mean that if the deal is at the stage where all that is left to do is the medical then you presume they wouldn’t be hanging around to get it completed.

If he is flying in today then I would agree that would look like the medical would/should take place tomorrow.

I thought that originally there was supposed to be funds made available before we got the £25m for Wood, I did think we might sell Tarks but this didn't happen. We can have more than 25 in the squad if any are below the age limit. Of the 23 we have these include Bardsley, Pieters, Stephens, Cork, Barnes and Vydra, JBG, Long and Lennon. Not exactly great news and they will all need to be replaced pretty quickly and I haven't even included Tarks in that list.

Clearly there is funds available otherwise we wouldn't have agreed a fee for Orsic, however unlike say Newcastle we don't have a bottomless pit of cash, so we need to shop sensibly.

I assume Daryl Dike's dream move was West Brom then, or the players Watford have signed. What you said made zero logical sense given we signed Collins very early in the summer.

The Collins deal was started in the January, but Stoke wouldn't let it happen, hence why it was finished start of the summer.

Silly comment really. Just received 25m from Wood sale. We employ full time recruitment specialists including scouts and data analysts. We have known about areas to improve for quite some time. I’m not buying the fact there’s not one player available that improves us - an example is Patrick Berg who signed for RC Lens recently from Bodo Glimt for €4m. 22 year old technically gifted ball playing centre midfielder.

As others have said that makes it harder, yet the calibre of player is light years away from who we were chasing under Garlick!
Blame him for the **** we are in. New owners have given us Cornet, Collins, Roberts and a Welsh international back up keeper

Sorry I'm frustrated my team (bottom of the league) have sold their main striker for £25m and that money hasn't been used to improve the team. I was very positive after we sold Wood, with the right additions (like the ones targeted) we could've given ourselves a real fighting chance, instead we're left with what ifs, excuses and a dejavu feeling of further disappointment.

This is what I said about 10 pages back. As a club you have to expect some deals will fall through. It's acceptable, especially for a club like ours, and in our present position.

The time to be critical is if there are no backups lined up instead, as has been the case in previous years.

At least we're trying to sign quality players, there's no way the previous ownership would have even tried to sign Orisic.

I backed you in yesterday in trying to cool people down having digs at you, but you seem to have your mind set on creating arguments and drama at every given opportunity at the moment so I will leave you to it.
The club have moved heaven and earth to get this over the line and from what I have read they are as gutted and confused as much as we are as to why Orsic is not a Burnley player. This just shows how hard the deals are to get over the line, and as the bottom of the league club you get to a point where we are saying either deal with us and have this done by mid January or we move on, we would have no irons in the fire at all. The owning club and players hold all the leverage no us.

Can see why frustration is kicking in. One thing that's puzzled me-there was more talk from within the club suggesting we would focus on loans this window. This admittedly before the windfall from Woods sale. These can happen more easily at the end of the window, and you would hope that we have a set of targets in this country from players not getting sufficient game time at their current clubs ie Deli Ali (he could be replacement for Osric)-an excellent No 10.Ross Barclay is another. Meanwhile Newcastle complete the signing of Bruno Guimaraes for £33m from Lyon, a very very good defensive midfielder. Not expecting us to compete financially with them but the fact is they have improved their team significantly while we haven’t and don’t appear to be doing.

I don't particularly want a discussion with you but for now here goes. We are bottom, no denying and I think we all know that. However the season is usually decided when equal number of games are played. Additionally , I will make judgement when the transfer window is closed. I can stamp my feet and moan like hell, but it won't make any difference to something I can't directly influence.
